I noticed that you'd asked if people in Britain were more aware than in the US. I would say that we probably have more access to information but that our conditioning is equally strong in most sections of society, sadly. Although I do live in the middle of nowhere, there are perhaps more enlightened people in the bigger cities with more cultural differences :)
