Welcome to the first day in recorded history (well, as far as I know) that honors Mother Earth, recommends universal love towards all and urges an end to violence against women.

That’s a pretty tall order, is it not?

And yet, as many of us know very well, the vibrations on the planet are rising. More and more love is sweeping the planet.  Never mind being baked as bread for God’s sacred feast. We’re being simmered in a divine broth until all the toughness is gone from us.

We’re having the knots kneaded out of us, the rough edges sandpapered, the crooked made straight and the high places made level.

And as we’re drenched in the wonderful feelings that more and more fill up our days, we come ever closer to understandings that alter our world by altering our minds and hearts.

We realize that Gaia is a sentient being, that our behavior over the years has harmed her. We see that she’s been patient with us while we water her fields with blood, explode nuclear bombs on her surface, deplete her resources, and pollute her air and sea.

Humbly we give her thanks today for not having blown us off her surface or drowned us all as we hear was done in other days.  Instead she shakes off our negativity with rumblings that occur in out-of-the-way places and offers to return us to the Garden of Eden. Every day she shows us universal love and perhaps now we begin to hear her.

And today as well, we move away from valuing not only our sweethearts to valuing the whole of the human community. And not only the whole of the human community but the ecosystem of Earth as a whole. We’re not yet so advanced that we refrain from harming the animal kingdom, but we’ll get there in the not too distant future. The rising vibrations guarantee it.

But the biggest question, and the one that concerns our well-being more than any other, is are we willing to stop warring on each other? And more specifically are men willing to stop harming women and children?

Are men willing to face up to their abysmal record of harmfulness towards an entire gender? Are men willing to cede power, to level the playing field and play fair so that what is a Golden Age for some can be a Golden Age for all?

These are the challenges of Nova Earth Day and it’s no longer satisfactory to look out there and say, well, my neighbor isn’t doing these things; why should I? We need to stop watching what our neighbor is doing and look only to ourselves.

The proper study of humanity may be humanity, but the proper study of me is me. I am king over myself and I am fully responsible for what I do and don’t do. Harmfulness, an end to discrimination and persecution can only come through my refraining from them and by no other means.

This is a day on which it’s appropriate for men to look at the deplorable way we’ve treated women for millennia and apologize. I apologize to the women I’ve demeaned, harmed, put down, and disadvantaged.  I apologize to all the women I’ve stereotyped, diminished, and devalued. And I apologize to all the women whose well-being, advancement and satisfaction I’ve stood in the way of.

Out of my commitment to a world that works, I commit myself to a life that works. I haven’t created a life that works before this date. At best I’ve been haphazard. But I commit myself today.

One life at a time is how we build Nova Earth. I invite you to join me in that commitment and that work.

And come meditate with us from 1:01 to 1:11. But most of all, take the pledge to end gender violence, discrimination and persecution in your own life. Let that be the end of it.

Open to Nova Earth and a brand new day for humanity. Why? Because we say so. How? Simply by us saying so. When? At exactly the minute we say so.
