  haha.. i didn't even realize how old this post is! ~as if there is such a thing as 'time', when it comes to dreams!~ lol!

    ~falling and flying, these dreams: all the time. yes.~ i had recurrent falling dreams, as a child. into darkness, and when i hit the bottom, it didn't hurt. it was weird, there was a giant golden lion there. felt sometimes protective, sometimes terrifying. i have flying dreams all the time, just last night! i often span the earth, up into space. so lucid feeling! as a child, i loved to spin in circles with my arms outstretched till i fell down dizzy! (didn't we all?) lol! i think its a soul~memory we are having! we are all sufi's! lol! we are all flying AND falling, somewhere else... right NOW! therefore, we feel it. we re~call it. we dream it...

  Yes, I have experienced 1); but more like sliding into deep space. I have stared at the sun at dawn and saw shapes...
  And once in a dream, while I was flying in outer space with my beloved Guide, I felt like falling when I looked down and saw that the earth was all black! My Guide had to wrap his arms around me to make me feel better. I woke up with a vertigo.

  I use to have dreams of flying and falling when I was a kid to.
  
  I'm not so sure about staring at the sun though but eclipses always fascinated me. I can remember one time I got in trouble for sneaking out of the house to go into the back yard at 3a.m. to watch a lunar eclipse. LOL
  
  You would think parents would be happy that thier kids were only sneaking out into the yard to do geek stuff rather then sneaking out to go party. LOL

  Wow Littlefeather, I thought that I was the only one that dreamed about flying. I used to have spontaneous obe's when I was little, and thought I could fly because of the obe's.. Unfortunately when I was just dreaming I was flying I used to sleepwalk and try to fly down the stairs and go toppling down the stairs but thank god they were deeply carpeted and I never got hurt..... While having an out of body experiences I used to swoop around the house, and remembered the exhileration of zooming down the stairs about three feet above the steps. I used to go into my parents room and look down on them while they slept and they looked so funny lying there all with the messed up hair and all and the snoring, then I used to check on my older brother. I thought every kid did that obe flying. I told my mom I could fly and she told me it was not real, just dreams but I knew better because I knew I was awake.. It was real and not a dream.... It stopped happening when I hit my teens and I was so disappointed. Although I have to say that when I zapped back into my body after obe's my heart would really get palpitating too hard and that scared me. Felt like an electrical shock. I also used to dream all the time that I was in the yard about 3 ft off the ground spining like a top. (might have been dizziness from all my chronic ear infections though...but it was so much fun spinning.... I wish I could have an obe again. Lost the knack and I never knew how I made it happen when I was a kid. Wish I could recapture that feeling, it was the Best.
  Sorry for the rambling, it brought back a good memory.

  I understand the feeling you are talking about. Only in my case it turned out to be chronic inner ear infections which messed up my equilibrium, so when I layed my head down the world would start spinning. Felt like I was being sucked upwards....only my ears bothering me and antibiotics cured it after a couple of months. It was later in life when I actually DID get sucked up into the sky, lol and my ears were not to blame.
