I think we tend to think too much when it comes to certain things in life, for instance happiness. Indeed, having less expectations is crucial in achieving this state. :)
I find it a lot easier to be happy when I accept myself and others and everything else... happiness is fleeting too, it cannot last forever, thus accepting that one cannot always be happy is important to be at ease. Take my sister for instance, she knows nothing about 'ascension' or such fancy terms... she is not highly educated, she doesn't 'debate' on forums, she works night and day and brings money home to support us. But she is such a damn happy woman. She will take us to places, organize fun activities, buy us gifts and she is always smiling (of course there are times when she doesn't!). Such simple yet profound act of kindness and love...that reflects enlightenment (without her even realizing it). There is so much we can learn about 'evolution' and love simply by observing and participating in life.
The key to being happy is just...to be happy lol Sounds simple enough, and it is that simple, if you make it that simple. People tend to make these things more complicated then they need to be...oh you need to do this and that, be this and that, and then you'll be happy. It doesn't have to be that way....it's just as simple as choosing to be happy. To laugh, to do things that give you joy...these are all choices....the key to being happy is to choose to be happy.

When somebody disrespect the trust you place with them, it is breach of trust and not incomplete trust.
you trust - other deceives, it does not amount to and / or make your trust incomplete.
If you present yourself as a welcome mat you might get stepped on. Get up! You're worth a lot more than this. Even vines climb as high as they can.
