  the song "KILLING IN THE NAME OF" by rage against the machine.  the refrain is  - SOME OF THOSE AT WORK FORCES ARE THE SAME THAT BURN CROSSES -    at least that what everyone thinks.  even if it says that in the liner notes, i can swear i hear him say several times ' are the same that BAR crosses'.  i also feel that bar is just really an INTENTIONALLY mispronunciation of the word BARE.    anyone who gets into the whole 'religion conspiracy' thing can tell you that this would make alot more sense.   the name of the song is "killing in the name of" for god sake!!  

   also i have been totally hearing awakening messages in Nine Inch Nails songs.  mainly in the titles.

  . . but a minor comment to touch on the term "sheep", is feeling quite out of place (now) with the changing times and energys. punks are great but they have the heart to care for those who they sing out to, and most I think do not see majority as sheep I really feel. they believe in humanity, not the perception of sheep, and they know what has really happened to the majority, and to know that is not entirely the fault of the masses

  I love this thread!  I have been drawn to this kind of music my whole life, but usually it seems to be whole ARTISTS, not just their individual songs, but here are some artists that come to mind (I listen mainly to rock so, there's my slant):

  Tool :)

  Pink Floyd (I once played "Wish You Were Here" at least 20 times in one day)

  Rage Against the Machine (hello, listen to all their songs)

  Incubus

  All the Marley brothers (most definitely)

  Mos Def

  Sting (listen to "Lazarus Heart", but it's in a lot of his songs too)

  10 Years

  Radiohead  (see the video for 2+2=5)

  Jack Johnson

  311!  <--I just really caught on to their message lately.  I just like it for the music at first.

  The Smashing Pumpkins

  Ironically, those are just about all my favorite artists. I really like Sade too, and there are some good wake up songs in there too if you want to think about unconditional love being the purest of wake up calls.
