The unfoldment of this situation can be described from a martial artist perspective. Well you don't have to speak for me at all, I know why I follow politics, and I know it has nothing to do with being a casualty in some info war, I follow politics because I understand what Hitler and others talked about, when they said that politics is history in the making. Geo-politics makes up the world around us. When spirituality and politics come together, the world is gonna change. You guys have little pea brains, you can't understand how actually important politics is, or how it's important you understand your responsibility to be engaged in the political system, so it doesn't turn sour, and correct it when it does....you don't even want to talk about it and pretend it doesn't exist...you're part of the problem...and that attitude certainly won't change anything, it'll sure make things alot worse though.
I were full on politics between age 12 and 32 and I talked just like you do Now about people who weren't interested back then.. I saw them as traitors of humanity even.
After that age (and the subsequent experiences I got meanwhile) I realized politics are only meant to use for controlling people and NOT to invoke change in a society nor save the world.
The change comes from within the people in society, not from the system they choose to follow.
Nowadays I do not even recognise any governing bodies at all, and next year I'll make a freeman-declaration and if the govt after that tries to mess with my life as they have in the years before, I'll respond with devastating resolve and remove the infection by the most expedient means available.
You're quite young so it seems you haven't been a direct victim of political corruption yet..
