The government of Spain for centuries has had Dams built were used mainly for domestic water supply, crop irrigation, energy production and canal operation. Over the years these dams were converted to produce hydropower and large basin management as they call it. A basin is constructed for storage, regulation and control of water. (source floodplain.org)
Spain saw the number of reservoirs grow at the rate of more than 4 per year between 1900 and 1950, before almost doubling and reaching 741 units by 1975. By 1990, this figure had more than doubled again (19.5 per year). Today, there are 1172 large dams.
Every time Spain constructed a dam, Spain ecosystem suffered, because the dams, dried up the lakes and rivers that once created a robust and thriving ecosystem. Today not only the ecosystem is failing but he air quality and air pollution is some of the lowers / highest in Europe and the world.
As this video from the Spain Water Project shows an example of some of the dried up rivers which the Spanish government blames on climate change, not their dams that stop up the riverbeds. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=268538780303603
When news uncovered some of these facts, Spain announced it would do something about it. Spain was going to do something good, but scraped the project https://www.theguardian.com/environment/…/jun/18/water.spain
Why? Because of greed. You control water, you can tax the people for it and profit. Case and point, in 2017 Murcia farmers want to save their rivers. Anger over Spains control of water reserves where flooding is regular, is saved in reservoirs, and the rivers are slowly drying up. Add to that the drought, and things are not good for Murcia.
Just like in Africa when a few years back, they discovered enough water under the land, in cave systems to supply the world for the next 250 years. But the rich, the governments, the corporations, and corrupt are hold it back fighting over it like the oil boom.
Today, the ecosystem and air quality remains the same in Spain, people with allergies and asthma flock to Spain to find out it is one of the worst places on earth to live with those conditions.
Not only is the air pollution, causing financial restraint, health issues it is causing many more problems.
Millions of species whose toil underpins our prosperity are gravely endangered by human activity, scientists say — and that imperils us in turn.
The unprecedented and accelerating deterioration of nature in the past 150 years has been driven by changes in land and sea use, exploitation of living beings, climate change, pollution and invasive species, a recent report found.
In a blow to human progress, damage to ecosystems undermines 35 of 44 UN sustainable development targets for poverty, hunger, health, water, cities climate, oceans and land, the authors found.
Biodiversity, a contraction of biological diversity, means the abundance and variety of life on the planet. The definition encompasses more than just the creatures we can see. It ranges from tiny genes, bacteria, plants and animals, right up to ecosystems such as the Amazon rainforest and Great Barrier Reef.
The Amazon Rainforest ecosystem is protected and there lives the best ecosystem and air quality in the world.
Without a strong ecosystem bacteria kills nature and humans. The only way to stop this crime is to elect new politicians and to demonstrate.
The small things you can do to protect the ecosystem that remains will help but is not enough. Spain needs its dams opened and rivers flowing once again. Water evaporates where it is in a riverbed or in a reservoir.
How will the King and Government react when they start seeing news like this in the media ?
Comments
The dams will eventually break and there will major flooding of cities, towns, and villages. There was an incident that occurred in Ohio. Creator will step in and correct this problem and will once again return to the garden of Eden. yes, Spain is a beautiful country.
3D or better said, 3rd density is being systematically shut down. It has become unsustainable, due to mismanagement of "server to selfers". It is a powerful lesson for humanity, because they have given away their power for so long. The balance was tipping in favor of the "service to selfers", and Earth cried for help. That is why everything is being exposed and becoming so clear to all humans, at this time. The incoming energies no longer support the plundering of eco systems. If people demonstrated as much for nature, as they do for inequality, right now, perhaps then change will happen. Unless there is a collective outcry, nothing will change. The Amazon rainforest is at this moment being completely plundered. It is said to be the lungs of the planet. Isn't it ironic, that a virus was created to attack the lungs of the population? As within so without. This reality will no longer sustain life, if this continues. The only way to change this, is if humanity has a major shift in consciousness, seeing themselves as one with everything on this planet. This most likely will happen if we shift to 4th density. 3rd density has taught many lessons, but is essentially non-viable, because of the imbalance of polarities. Time to shift up and take stock.
