But this further highlights musk's fooly. There is a perfect place on earth to do necessary feasibility studies before embarking on an expensive, mars mission: Sahara desert. This is where he should be doing experiments. He should be first conducting preliminary experiments to do with launching and remort controlling rockets before he think of getting to mars, let alone building a city. He should see if he can remortly build a platform in Sahara desert (without going there) for launching rockets off from there. See if he can build a house and leave in Sahara or Antarctica for one year. See if he can find a way round to getting food etc. See if he can even build a village, let alone a city. See if he can buld a factory in Antarctica capable of manufacturing rockets there. There are endless things to study about 'mars trip' feasibility in Sahara or antartica. If we cannot inhabit Antarctica, then even an idiot can see that an attempt to go to mars is a futile task!!
Musk think that we will be able to inhabit mars and yet we cannot inhabit Sahara Desert?Be carefull when following nincompoops like Musk. Just because someone has lots of money, receives media attention etc does not mean they are very smart! Why doesn't he warm the floor by attempting first to build a city on top of mount Everest before he promise one on mars? Why can't we do that at the apex of our nose? Why can't hardly anyone survive a trip to Mt Everest? How about Antarctica? How can we begine to seek to colonize other planets before we can fully colonize our own planet?
