(NaturalNews) Turmeric, ginger's little cousin, has gained a lot of popularity in recent years, and for some good reasons, too. It has been used for ages in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine to treat a wide range of ailments. It owes its many medicinal uses to its active ingredient curcumin, which is also responsible for the distinctive yellow color and spicy, bitter flavor.Curcumin is a polyphenol that possesses strong anti-inflammatory, anticancer and antioxidant properties. It has been linked to reducing inflammation, relieving pain, reducing blood clots and detoxifying the body. Now, a group of experts from Colorado and China suggests it may hold the key to fighting drug-resistant tuberculosis (TB), too.

Well, you know it will be nice when the medical field is OUTED, and people find out that they've been POISIONED, and people revert to natural products.
DARKSTAR: I have actually had to explain to MD's that vitamin C facilitates skin repair, and that positive results were seen at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Research Center with turmeric root and certain types of cancer. I've been attacked behind the scenes by health care professionals because I work for a medical school teaching facility that pushes their sponsor's drugs.
I follow MD orders with patients, but I will question the pharmaceutical industrial complex when I have a chance. This is because I am 56 years old and have only been an inpatient once in my life in my mid 30's (I had vocal cord surgery in the 1990's. Singing, smoking cigarettes, loud poetry, loud protest, and too much grapefruit juice were the culprits with that one). We do need MDs, but we also need to focus on how the body repairs itself via natural and nutritional means that prove to be effective. And if it this less expensive method affects the profitability of the pharmaceutical industrial complex, that is too f*cking bad.
I currently take no chemical-based medication products right now except Benadryl for allergy issues (and I'm starting to weed that drug out via the use of wild local honey and green tea). I've stopped taking antacid products via the use of purified water with a more alkaline pH, and I try to buy non-GMO food (which is becoming increasingly difficult these days).
We are on the verge of a complete change in how to improve our health, and it excludes the pharmacy companies and the medical schools they finance to push their products. These are the same medical schools that teach ONE course (minimum and not always required) on nutrition as part of the medical school curriculum.
And I'm a conspiracy theorist???
