Salutations fellow seekers! We’ve all been feeling under the weather with all the energy being set loose in the world, and all that we are releasing and experiencing. I thought perhaps we should lighten up a bit. In that spirit, here is a lighthearted response to Marianinia’s blog regarding truth. Please bear with me that this is all in good fun, and contribute in the same vein. We could all use a laugh right about now.
Truisms are those things that we all know… we may speak different languages, come from various parts of the world… but we all experience truisms, they are part of what makes us human. We’re all mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, lovers, friends, and more…. And these are some of the things we share as truisms…
1. A woman is like a teabag. Only in hot water do you realize how strong she is.
2. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
3. At times your unconsciousness is truer than your conscious mind
4. Boredom makes you do crazy things
5. Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.
6. Class structure is as artificial as plastic
7. A radical is a man with both feet firmly planted in the air.
8. Expiring for love is beautiful but stupid
9. To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom.
10. Genius is more often found in a cracked pot than in a whole one.
11. A coward dies a thousand deaths; a brave man dies but once.
12. A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
13. It's not good to operate on credit
14. Knowing yourself lets you understand others
15. Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.
16. A job worth doing, is worth doing well.
17. Age is strictly a case of mind over matter....if you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.
18. All sins are attempts to fill voids.
19. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
20. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. (or 'Beer Holder')
21. In the practice of tolerance, one's enemy is the best teacher.
22. What we think, we become.
23. Be just and if you can't be just, be arbitrary. lol
24. Happiness is a byproduct of function, purpose, and conflict; those who seek happiness for itself seek victory without war.
25. Character is higher than intellect.
26. Wit is educated insolence.
27. Money can buy you a fine dog, but only love can make him wag his tail.
28. Disobedience is the true foundation of liberty. The obedient must be slaves.
