TO BE AND TO LAST

Parkour (abbreviated PK) is a training method which focuses on rational movement in both the natural and urban environments. The focus is to move around obstacles with speed and efficiency. Developed in France by David Belle, the main purpose of the discipline is to teach participants how to move through their environment by vaulting, rolling, running, climbing and jumping. Parkour practitioners are known as traceurs. They train to be able to identify and utilize alternate, more efficient paths. Parkour can be practiced anywhere, but areas dense with obstacles offer many training opportunities. {Wikipedia}

Two primary characteristics of parkour are efficiency and speed. Traceurs take the most direct path through an obstacle as rapidly as that route can be traversed safely. Developing one's level of spatial awareness is often used to aid development in these areas. Also, efficiency involves avoiding injuries, both short and long term.   • ..holding a rock or a plate as a weight on the stomach it is said by Toltecs, it helps for the dreaming attention or something like that... have u ever heard about the Chacmools??

  • Its actually very interesting practice, there is a sense of freedom that practicing it yields.  I never knew it had a name though, i always had this ability, it was just natural to me, I guess a gift the deep forest gave in all my playings in it.

    it is always neat to have what we think is possible challenged and changed to what could be.....and then pushed again...

     

  • Me too I often have dreams where I'm flying...well not really flying, more like gliding around....and...it's really a great feeling, to feel yourself gliding through the air....so smoothly and gracefully....you feel as light as a feather lol And now that I think of it, I think I have lucid dreamed it, because I would always control where I want to go...I didn't even think of it as lucid dreaming, it's just kind of how it was. Oh well lol

  • pretty cool Kelly ... ;) you should try this experiment, next time try to see your hands intentionally .... the sensation is .... well .... kind of liberating ;)

  • it's sounds like a great plan Marianinia ... ;) you know this could be compared to our life, we all have our potentials, however we need to learn how to use them ..... it goes to Love, compassion, kindness and so on .... and the learning starts with knowing how to fall .... to be safely back on our feet (metaphorically speaking)
