This Unique Tree Has Fruit Growing On Its Trunk
The Brazilian grape tree known as Jabuticaba has an appearance that many may think is disturbing at first glance.

This is due to the uncommon growths that are visible on the trunk of the tree. However, there is nothing wrong with this tree. These growths are fruit, and in the case of the Jabuticaba, the growths are delicious grapes.

African Grape Tree Jabuticaba Fruit
As the name indicates, this Brazilian grape tree is native to Brazil. It also can be found in Argentina, Chile, and Peru. The tree is classified as an evergreen that grows slow. The fruit on the tree is available all year round. It is edible and can be used to make jam. The grapes are full of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer components.

The flowers themselves will appear on the tree roughly twice in a given year. This tree also has white fuzz, which many think of as strange in terms of appearance.

The assumption is that the tree wants the animals to consume its fruit that falls to the ground so the seeds can be released away from the parent tree. This will allow more Jabuticabas to grow.

The name of this tree is also interesting. Jabuti stands for tortoise, while caba stands for place. The combination of these two words stands for tortoise place. This name was likely given to the tree because the Brazilian giant tortoise loves to eat the fruits that fall to the ground from the tree.

Good images! In January of 2025 the same craft were overhead but silently. People were shooting at them! About a month later they started emitting jet drone sounds and nobody pays attention now. lol.
