With everyones advice on eating healthier and starting a new type of lifestyle that will help cure cancer, I decided to change my diet. I am eating a combination of cooked vegetables and raw vegetables with raw fruits. I am only using a combination because I am not quite used to eating just raw vegetables and fruits however, I am giving up meat and all animal products. I want to share my journey with what I experience and how it works for me.
I dont have much money and the food I do have is donated from food shelters and whatever my parents can give me so, I have to be creative with how I prepare my food too. Sometimes I will use artificial flavors found in canned soups because I have no other alternatives.
What I found at my parents house:
a head of cabbage
some raw broccoli
half of white onion
bag of carrots
a green bell pepper
half of a peeled cucumber
small ziplock bag of lettuce leaves
1 can of cream of onion soup
1 can of cream of celery soup
1 package of dried onion soup mix
I had to be really creative with this lol so, at home I decided to make a vegetarian stew and a vegetarian salad. I cut up the cabbage, carrots, white onion, and threw it in crock pot with water mixed in cream of onion soup and cream of celery soup. I also added dried onion soup mix to the stew to add flavor.
The salad was made out of lettuce leaves, chopped carrots, broccoli, bell pepper, diced cucumber, and I used yellow mustard for dressing.
It will take about 4 to 5 hours for the crock pot to cook in full effect and break down the proteins in the vegetables but for now I am eating the salad.
It finished a bit early but thats good :) I topped my stew in the bowl with egg noodles for a nice crunch.

Great idea's, thanks for sharing, i too am in the process of totally changing my diet to exclude animal products, slowly but surely i will get there too. Peace love & light sister.
My, what an interesting day.
I see I didn't know about that :). You learn something new everyday as the saying goes, I wish you well :)
may Divine Source fill you with strength and courage everyday...laugh everyday
Just curious if I read correctly; why would you want to break down the proteins in the vegetables by cooking them in 5 hours? :O ;). I have never heard of that before and I cannot imagine why you would like to get rid of proteins?
Awesome, a vegetarian delight indeed. I think I will give it a try....looks totally yummsss! I live on veggies so always like new combinations...believe it or not I never put raw broccoli in a salad but I bet it is good...but that salad would taste good with a little ranch dressing too..or a mix of ranch and honey mustard, now that is a thought....
