Hey everyone. To those of you who know Martin (Marty) Askey, I have the deep sadness to say that he crossed over on Tuesday, May 24th at 10.30pm (UK time). He never regained consciousness from a coma following a stroke in hospital in Bath UK. My Heart hurts so much as he was one of my best friends. We spoke on the phone every day pretty much for nearly 6 years. A man of great kindness, compassion and courage, he loved his trees and his dog, Murphy (who sadly died a few weeks before hand.) He was a mentor to so many on the AGC.ning site and such a gentleman. Farewell my friend, into the Light of Love and the Arms of Spirit to forever walk the forests and glades of Heaven in Harmony and Joy with Murphy. Until we meet again, I thank you for being such an incredible friend and Soul brother.
One Love in the Light Marty.
Always your Seb. xxxxxx

Hey Kel. Yeah, I think Murphy did go so that he could be there for him. My Mum has a remarkable affinity with dogs and we've always had them. I also dream a lot of animals.
Anyhoo, when I have mourned for him, I'll be able to celebrate him and his love and friendship from a clearer perspective. Thank you for your kindness.
Love Sebxxx
You're welcome Sky and thank you. I don't think he ever really got over Murphy's death. There are many who believe that animals don't have souls. I believe they do and Murphy was as much a soul mate to Marty as I was.
Peace.

Hey All. Tank you so much for your thoughts and condolences. Thank you also Marique for the poem. I'm going to his funeral on Wednesday June 8th and might take it to read if I'm asked. I'm still so shocked and every time the phone rings I think it's him.I know he would be so moved and filled with Joy at how much he meant to you All. You All meant so much to him.
I very rarely visit forums anymore, but I hope that someone does keep his food one going.
In Light.
Seb.
I'm a member of Martin's 'Grow Your Own Food Focus Group', and was looking forward to meeting him (physically) in the near future. But it's not meant to be.
It is with great sadness that Martin left us at this point in earthly time of early sprouting from the seeds of inspiration he sowed into the fertile soil of our hearts and minds. And yet, it is with great happiness that, after a long and arduous journey, Martin is now HOME again, taking his well-earned R & R, and planning for his next Mission to be accomplished in this vast Universe.
I am sad at Martin's passing but know that his spirit is joyous and free, and would not want him to have been hampered by a body ravaged and ill. There is a beautiful poem on his page that I have gone to and read often, and now especially it brings a tear to my eyes, thinking of his passing. He loved his fellow souls dearly and was a very intelligent man full of curiosity and wisdom. Rest in peace Martin, you will be missed. I hope someone will keep his natural foods group going, it is a wonderful group. This poem I am posting here as a tribute to Martin. It may bring tears to your eyes too. Someone had posted it on his homepage and I just love it....
May you find serenity and
tranquility in a world
you may not always understand.
May the pain you have known
and conflict you have experienced
give you the strength to walk through life
facing each new situation
with courage and optimism.
Always know that there are
those whose love and understanding
will always be there,
even when you feel most alone.
May you discover enough goodness in others
to believe in a world of peace.
May a kind word,
a reassuring touch, a warm smile be yours
every day of your life,
And may you give these gifts
as well as receive them.
Remember the sunshine
when the storm seems unending.
Teach love to those who know hate,
and let that love embrace you
as you go into the world.
May the teaching of those
you admire become part of you,
so that you may call upon them.
Remember, those whose lives
you have touched
and who have touched yours
are always a part of you,
even if the encounters were less
than you would have wished.
It is the content of the encounter
that is more important than it's form.
May you not become too concerned
with material matters,
but instead place immeasurable value
on the goodness in your heart.
Find time in each day to see the beauty
and love in the world around you.
Realize that each person has limitless abilities,
but each of us is different in our own way.
What you may feel you lack in one regard
may be more than compensated for in another.
What you feel you lack in the present
may become one of your strengths in the future.
May you see your future as
one filled with promise and possibility.
Learn to view everything
as a worthwhile experience.
May you find enough inner strength
to determine your own worth by yourself,
and not be dependent on another’s judgment
of your accomplishments.
May you always feel loved.
