The lotus flower sprouts from the mucky waters ( signifying contamination in the material world ) but it remains above it and stays uneffected and uncontainmated ( signifying spiritual above all impurities on planet earth.

SO SHOULD ONE LIVE THEIR LIVES LIKE A LOTUS FLOWER.
