The female standup comedian at the center of the Hillary Clinton Laugh Factory scandal is standing up for her free speech against attempted censorship by the Clinton campaign.
Tiffany Haddish, 35, performed in a raunchy roast of Hillary Clinton at Los Angeles’ Laugh Factory comedy club, alongside other comics including Dom Irrera and Greg Fitzsimmons. Her routine speculated about whether Clinton might come out as a lesbian once she gets elected president. The routine was posted as a video on the Laugh Factory website.
But the Clinton campaign demanded that the video be taken down. And it demanded contact information for the comedians be turned over to the Clinton campaign.
“I first heard about that controversy from a couple of my friends,” Haddish told Breitbart News. “They said, ‘Oh my God, did you hear Hillary Clinton is mad at you guys. She’s mad at you.'”
“They asked for my phone number and all this. That’s serious for me,” Haddish said. “If it was really Hillary Clinton, doesn’t she already have that information? She runs the government, doesn’t the government control the telephone companies?”
Laugh Factory owner Jamie Masada told Haddish that the comedy club would not be intimidated.
“Jamie told me don’t worry about it, it’s freedom of speech. This is America. We fought for our freedom to say what we want to say.”
