Islam...in peace or in pieces

The recent Islamic protests in Sydney created another stinky mess. They’ve sharpened a nasty conflict so sending their cause backwards to everyone’s detriment.

I read an account by a protester that sought to explain his actions. He said that if your honoured father is insulted it is valid, indeed required that you force the offender to recant through aggression.

I would be ideal if such people were able to comprehend the obvious being that the preceding thinking is bizarrely immature, profoundly foolish, and guaranteed to get a bad result. Unfortunately thinkers of his calibre are big fat scaredy cats who’re too freaked out to comprehend simple sense.

Fortunately they’re a very small percentage of the Islamic population, the vast majority being perfectly pleasant, sensible, and reasonable people. Indeed the Islamic leadership has indicated their shock and dismay at the behaviour of people they describe as “a few disaffected young men”. They’ve urged an immediate end to the protests.

I think this however an insufficient response. Australian Islamic people can do much more than simply refuse their participation in the criminal stupidity done in their name. Instead there is a wonderful opportunity to turn defeat into victory by standing up for what’s right.

Consider the headlines if the hundreds of Islamic protestors were matched by thousands of Islamic peace demonstrators and their non-Islamic cohorts.

Picture the demonstrators thanking and encouraging the police force’s professionalism. Imagine ten people surrounding each angry boy, listening politely and respectfully until his rage dissipated enough for him to hear words of peace return. See the beauty of people apologising to passers-by for the shameful behaviour of their young men even as they confirm that Islamists are kind, gracious, reasonable and smart.

God helps those who help themselves so I urge the intelligent majority of Islamists to get organised to wage a holy jihad of love. Expand peaceful demonstration skills in our communities. Insha’Allah; we will teach our children well.

"200% agreed. Thank God the only threat left is the primitive cabal. They think they are tough, but they honestly can't be taken seriously lol."

"That is a scary scary weapon. I don't think it will ever happen again not in this galaxy, but lets hope these weapons are never used again. These things are way to powerful."

"I believe you mentioned the pralaya bomb before on here. I think it was said that weapon can destroy an entire star system. That or it could destroy an entire planet. One of the two was said."
