    Wow, I could have used you when I had narcolepsy. People take for granted how much good healthy sound and restful sleep means to the well being of a person.

  Maybe I can help you with your project?  I am not currently doing the job but I used to be an esthetician and a beautician/haridresser/manicurist for corpses.  It was my job to apply makeup and facial treatments to dead people, to style their hair often from photos of how they wore their hair, and manicure their hands to make them look good "and less dead" for viewing in their coffins. In a couple of cases I had to putty in holes in their head which caused their death (one was a person who passed due to a gunshot wound and the family still wanted an open coffin, and one due to an accident where the person was eviserated by a falling icecycle off his porch that was fatal.  Those were challenges.  It was a very profitable job because it is such a specialized field.  Email me here if you think my job was something unique and interesting.  There are not too many people that are corpse estheticians/hairdressor/manicurists.Many people do not like working on corpses.  I found them easier to deal with than their living relatives, who often were hard to please because lets face it, a dead person no matter how much makeup and spiffying is done still looks like a dead person, which saddens the family and makes them really cranky, lol.  I would love to help you if you wish.

      Thnaks 1 Haapy.  I always tried to be kind to everyone.  Having the deceased look as natural as possible made it just a little easier for the bereaved to handle the passing.  I just felt that I could  help the family in their difficult time a little by what I did.  I enjoyed cosmetology when I studied it in school and for a brief period of time I taught cosmetology at a beauty academy,  Then for a bit I did inhome hairdressing for the elderly that were homebound, then I got into makeup artistry and from there ended up working for several funeral parlors.  I did not do that terrilby long though because my asthma was being greatly aggravated by many of the imbalming chemicals used in the preparation of the deceased so I had to stop doing that work. If it were not for my health I probably would have made that my life career.  I am also a portrait artist, and when I worked for the funeral parlor it was like doing portraits of people on the actual person.  It is definitely an artform that I miss.
