GREAT Dolphin News!!! The 12 boats in the Japanese cove who were set to kill the dolphins were sent back to their port without killing one dolphin today!!! Michael and I just returned from flying to the Honolulu Japanese Embassy where we,
...along with people at 94 Japanese Embassies worldwide, peacefully held signs protesting the killing of the cove dolphins. PLEASE keep up your great work, everyone! Every time you post about the dolphins on facebook or twitter, or change your facebook profile photo to a dolphin, or send prayers and energy, you’re making a huge difference! It’s only Day 1 of their planned dolphin hunt, and we have to keep up the visibility of this issue to make the positive difference on behalf of our brother and sister dolphins. Those who have the power to stop these killings know that the whole world has their eyes on them, and they are embarrassed by this! So we must keep up the visibility! It’s said that the reason behind these killings is that fishermen view dolphins as competition for their that they catch and sell. This is the same excuse given in Canada each year by those who club and kill seals. To me, the answer is SOOO plain and simple: if we all abstain from eating fish and seafood – for even 30 days – we remove the financial foundation behind killing dolphins, seals, whales, lobsters, fish, and other ocean beings. I stopped eating seafood in 1996 after I watched in horror as blood came off a piece of swordfish that I was cooking. I had an epiphany that this piece of meat belonged to a sentient being, and I had to right to eat it. I had no struggle in going vegan or being animal-product-free because I prayed for help. You can do the same! Another argument from those who kill dolphins and whales are saying is that it’s no different than the killing of cows, chickens, and other animals. So when you go vegan, you’re not just adopting a super-high-vibrating, healthful, and eco-friendly lifestyle – you’re also contributing to the lifespan of beautiful animals, fish, and birds who deserve to live as much as you and I do. Thank you for walking your talk! Thank you for stepping up to the plate! I promise you that you’ll gain so much more than you’ll “lose” by switching to a cruelty-free way of eating.
