It has been many millennia since animal species and plants, have been permitted for space-faring import, to outer Earth....Minerals, stones & crystals are permitted, and can be supplied to Earth contacts, from terrestrial and extraterrestrial sources....Very true...
There are abundant supplies of valuable metals on many worlds and our ET friends don't even have to obtain such supplies, from distant systems, as can select asteroid bodies, such as 140-mile diameter space rock, named "PSYCHE" which contains many minerals, as well as gold, worth $12,000 quadrillion....Psyche is located in Solarian orbit, between Jupiter and Mars....Along with the asteroid belt (former Maldek.)
Only problem in selling such a golden nugget, mined on asteroid Psyche, is that unlike gold bullion (or coinage,) it lacks a verification cert and serial number, for the buyer to be assured....;-) e-Bay sales, for example.....But a lab report could verify it, if needed...Then a suitable public auction arranged, albeit, that could attract the interests of malign players...
