  There are many "pagan" aspects to Christmas, which are fully appreciated and assimilated. As I said I'm no church-goer, nor a puritan...Even the Christmas fir tree was first brought into British culture by the Consort to Queen Victoria, namely; Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.
  
  The tradition he introduced was German, but very popular in the Victorian period, and following it. Now well established as a British tradition...Nothing wrong with Christmas....It brings much joy, in the cold dark, winter nights....

  I’ve heard that public Christmas trees will be removed in some areas of England as they may be offensive to minorities.. When minorities are asked they don’t seem to have a problem with it at all, it’s the crazy politicians that have an issue with people enjoying themselves..

  Truth is the UK is technically a Christian country. It's not France, nor the USA and owes no allegiance to secular wokery...
  
  One does not even have to be a church-going Christian, to appreciate and celebrate Christmas...Personally I'm a Theosophist and still love this season of goodwill, namely Christmas...Families getting together and exchanging gifts...It's magical and must be preserved..
  
  Most people in Britain, whatever their backgrounds, support British culture and that includes CHRISTMAS......Bravo to Nana Akua for stating it clearly...😄

  Oh! We were talking about scientists in the context of COVID. I think I have highlighted it abit, using phyc. Even Drekx would say that 'the only time physicists accepted a radically different idea was in General Relativity'. But scientists in modern times don't like attacking past theories head on, even if they sense that they were wrong!! The situation today is not like when GR was being introduced. Back then, scientists did not fear to look like they were contradicting Newt. Hence GR was made to appear radical. Not so to string theory. You can't say 'Einstein was wrong, and therefore we need to replace GR with string theory'. Not so to the claim that 'Darwin was wrong' in modern times! Not so to the claim that 'vaccines are ineffective'. The 'new variants' might be akin to 'string theory' as a more gentle way of saying 'Einstein was wrong'.😮
  
  Modern science is funded by the public, which perceives experimental failure of past science as a 'failure in science itself' and therefore 'science no longer need to be funded'!

  In other words physics is also a QUALITATIVE science, and the question of 'truth' vs 'false' is QUALITATIVE, not QUANTITATIVE.

  Or let me further highlight it this way: New phyc theories comes in with, or are at least, amenable to new concepts and new understanding of the universe that cannot be put into the equations. In this case, that a theory is 'closer to truth' in the sense of an 'how much' is completely meaningless! It is like saying something is 'closer to infinity'! Example of such new concepts is 'time dilation'. There is no in between the claim: 'time is absolute' and 'time is relative' even if time dilated by a gazillionth of a second, and thus 'Newton was correct even up to the Planck's scale'. Hope someone can get my point.☺
