Okay so let's all be peaceful and harmonious. I am on board with that. I do not see how you being from Australia promoting socialism in America accomplishes that. America has a tradition of limited government At this time we are being overwhelmed by a big and powerful government who promotes a social warfare state to solidify its power and gain group agreement of that power.

To say that America is all about the 1% is certainly answering the socialist call but at the same time is oversimplifying what is going on there. 48% of the people are now in line with a bigger and more powerful government. Once you grant government that kind of power it is almost impossible to shake it loose again.
Not all rich people or all business people want that. Not even 1%. Only a select few who send their lobbyist to Washington want that. It is that bond between the select few and government that centralizes government but they cannot do it without the agreement of the media and the uniformed public which think they will benefit from such an arrangement.
