Your minds your own business!, and it’s a tremendously important business to be mindful of!

Focusing your attention on the ideas that wash across awareness is an action that’s profoundly important for each human’s healthy evolution. If you don’t keep an eye upon your thinking, like an unsupervised “know it all” teenager, things can quickly escalate out of hand.

When your minds miasma of thoughts rush around unrestrained they can create a life of their own such that they’ll build a castle of cards without structural integrity: all front but with little solid substance.

In fact it tends to be the case that your inner fears become the drivers of your intention and in turn your outcomes in action. Then instead of being thoughtful you become thoughtless.

Rather than tall trees growing in groves where you can wander in wonder, your intelligence becomes as impassable and unproductive as a lantana briar.

Perhaps the first thing to consider as you head in this direction is to identify the fact that you’re more than your thoughts. Don’t take my word for it: think for yourself!

Ask yourself, “ If I am my thoughts, how could I know that such is so unless there is another aspect to my awareness that see’s this?”. Who is the watcher that concurs?

It is this very “ watcher “ I invite you to empower. In a very real sense the watcher is the adult foundation that you are and your thoughts are the teenagers your adult self is responsible to steward towards appropriate and productive behaviours.

When your thoughts are attended to, gently lovingly steered through their challenges, they’re kind, colourful and creative with energy and verve. When you keep a close eye on the thinking that arises in your awareness you’re in a position to encourage positive habits.

Take responsibility to parent your mind well. Then your youthful thoughts and resultant actions will be wonderful and wise.
