Evacuate

During my high school years, I was talking to a friend about Christianity, in particular, the Rapture. She was saying how she hopes it happens, and I was saying that I would choose to stay behind to help people on Earth. It would be the compassionate thing to do. On and on the conversation went.  Fast forward to today. The New Age equivalent is the Evacuation. If you don't know of it, basically it's the idea that aliens will come and take all or some of humanity off the planet and take them to some other world to start over. On the new world, it's basically supposed to be all sunshine, rainbows, and unicorns.  I used to think that was a nice idea and wanted to leave. Some people on this planet just drive me freakin' nuts! And don't even get me started on the willful ignorance!

But then I thought about that conversation and realized what I was saying.  What happened to the person who would've stayed behind to help humanity? Maybe she just got tired of the bull, threw up her hands and said, "I'm done!" But more importantly, what happened to my compassion? I didn't come down here just to leave early. Those of us who are supposed to be here for a few decades didn't come down here just to leave early through evacuation. Well I don't think so. Really, what would be the point in that?

So I look at the years I've lived so far and all that I've endured.  I think part of the reason why I'm here, why many of us are here, is to spread compassion.  This reflection makes me realize that I haven't lost my compassion after all, it's actually grown.  Compassion has a way of moving a person to do what should be done.  If more of us would tap into compassion, there would be no need for an evacuation.  And to be frank, wishing for evacuation is selfish. It's also lazy. When I think about the fact that I haven't done enough, yeah, wishing for evacuation is definitely lazy and selfish on my part. I also think that applies to others. Those may not be the only reasons for wanting it, but I think the two are definitely factors.

So then I has to ask myself, what type of Lightworker would I be if I just left people to suffer? That is a question many of us must ask. Is it not selfish in a bad way?  What would we say if a doctor saw someone suffering and had the tools and knowledge to save that person, but decides not to and walks away?  We would view that person as awful. So are we not awful for wanting to leave?  Shouldn't we at least do everything we can to the best of our ability to make the world a better place?  Isn't that why we're here?
