I have an interesting thought. Remember those "Ernest" movies, with Jim Varney? I used to love those movies. Particularly the one called "Ernest Scared Stupid". That movie gives us such a great lesson when confronting dark entities and how best to "defeat" them. So many people try to wage a kind of spiritual war against these entities, and fight against them. I've done that for years. But I've come to learn the best way to deal with darkness and dark souls, whether they are human or otherwise, is to show them unconditional love!
In the Ernest movie, Ernest had to deal with these dark troll like beings, from the forest, who harmed children and fed off of fear. Every time Ernest was afraid of them, it seemed to give them power. There came a time when there were so many of these trolls running around, they were infesting the entire town. Ernest didn't know what to do. He came to learn that milk could be used to counter the trolls. But these only hindered the trolls, it didn't stop them. Then, this wise old woman who lived in the forest came to Ernest and told him that the only way to defeat the trolls was to show them "unconditional love, the love of a child!"
Afterwards, Ernest had to face the big boss troll, a giant troll bigger than all the rest. Milk did nothing to this boss troll. But Ernest knew what to do. Instead of showing fear to the troll, Ernest turned towards it and started smiling, and extended his arms in friendship. I remember the scene clearly, Ernest was smiling and gleeful, sayng nice things to the troll, he even began dancing with the troll! The troll became very bewildered and confused. Ernest then planted a big kiss on the troll, right on the lips, and that was it. The troll couldn't take it, he went into some kind of shock and, if I recollect correctly, the troll exploded into a mountain of goo, spraying Ernest in the face. But that was the key, showing the troll unconditional love was the only way to defeat it. With the defeat of the master troll, the other mini trolls all went the way of the big troll, and exploded and disintegrated. The town were saved, the children had their Halloween, and Ernest was, well, Ernest, his funny old self!
I'll never forget that movie, and the lesson it taught me, from an early age, to try my best to respond to dark people with love. In real life, they won't explode of course, but with enough love, these dark souls might just very well see the light and change their ways. What other way can there be? Continue this spiritual warfare? That hasn't worked and it won't work. The ONLY way to "defeat" the dark side, is to love them back into Light. So try it, try it even when you face your own dark side, if you feel angry or negative, just start loving yourself, and see what happens.

It is easier said than done. I tend to cut the religions alot of slack. Despite their imperfections throughout the ages, they have still been a great light for humanity. There is enough information in all religious books and teachings for people to find the way to love and compassion and brotherhood, in fact the religions were founded upon these principals, and we, as a collective, chose to do everything but follow those simple teachings. We chose to follow the dictates of those who infiltrated and corrupted the religions.
But again, remember, these dark people are acting out roles. We all, at one point or another, have played the role of good guy and bad guy, killer and victim, oppressed and oppressor, throughout or lifetimes here on Earth. I understand it sounds ridiculous to treat these people with love and forgiveness, but remember what Jesus said "Love thy enemy". The roles they have played have taught us all a great lesson about how the darkside works, and the true value of those simple spiritual teachings of love, peace, brotherhood, freedom, forgiveness, understanding, that all the masters came to teach us.
It is the nature of duality. How would we understand cold, if there wasnt hot? Day if there wasnt night? Dark and light complement each other, as much as the positive and negative charges of an atom do. From our perspective it is hard to forgive them, but please try, the spiritual growth that comes from it is invaluable, and is our true ticket out of this 3D duality, where we wont have to experience darkness ever again.
Bless you Shelly, I hope one day youll find it in your heart to forgive these people. They really have done humanity a great service, and have played their dark roles magnificently in this grand experiment of extreme duality.
