I don't really think we have " devolved", it was the word I came up with at the time. I should have said "HELP! WE'VE SHRUNK!" I would have liked to see the world back then (or remember it??????)
I watched some clips that explain that originally the earth had a thicker layer of Ozone and everything was bigger, reptiles, insects, plants, trees and of course humans. With the thinning of the ozone, everything adapted to the diffferent conditions by getting smaller.
Then there is all the worldwide folklore and legends of giants, some which claim that there was a race of giant people living beneath/inside the earth. It's interesting stuff.
Things getting small doesn't always mean de-evolution. Look at the technical gadgets, they keep getting faster and smaller, and they are definitely "advancing" I think we are too. :-)

My Motto: Good things come in small packages (like me)
