Sikhs need to use their knowledge of foods that are in the mode of goodness and those that are in the mode of ignorance and passion.
In other words Sikhs need to wake up and ban onions and garlic in their daily food ( Langar ) as they are in the mode of passion and ignorance and instead use ginger, turmeric with touch of black pepper which are in the mode of goodness.
I can say no more except they can change to the mode of goodness which Guru Nanak would highly recommend or remain forever in the mode of passion and ignorance which Guru Nanak would not recommend
