A vegan food delivery service has raised a record £2 million in 48 hours.

allplants, which was founded in 2017 by brothers Jonathan (‘JP’) and Alex Petrides, delivers frozen vegan meals to people's doorsteps. It has now served 1 million dishes to its customer base - which is two-thirds non-vegan.

Funding round

The company's funding round on Seedrs is the UK’s largest vegan crowdfunding round, and precedes another round planned for the end of 2020.

It follows allplants securing £7.5m of investment in September 2018, the largest seed-round raised by a European plant-based business, and an £800,000 investment in 2017, raised from friends, family, leading angels and VC firm Felix Capital.

The money will be used to 'develop new food categories and serve over 60,000 meals a week from allplants’ production kitchen – a newly-opened 20k square feet dedicated plant-based kitchen in London'. In addition, by 2025, allplants aim to develop distribution partnerships and launch in new markets in Europe and North America.

Making plant-based living the future

"We've been blown away by our customers and community pledging over £2million over the past few days," Alex Petrides told Plant Based News.

"It goes to show how much belief and excitement there is in switching the planet to a more plant-based diet.

"This is just the beginning for allplants and with our new production kitchen ready for action, we’re gearing up for a lot more innovation and meals to your door in 2020."
