Wasting food is not good. I agree. There are hungry people all over the world! BUT, the Vatican owns nearly EVERYTHING! Why don't they feed the poor??? The Vatican could feed the entire global population very easily. But like many other corporations, it is a corrupt entity.... Vatican, put the money where starving people's mouth's are! Simple.
If that's true... the world is destined to be poor. If you consider how many people do this... that would be a lot of people. If that's true... then our lives are a product of our past lives, and not a product of the condition of the world.
Wasting food is something I pay attention to. I'm the type, if I go out to eat.... I take home leftovers. And yes, I try when I can to provide my own takeout containers or just go to places that use reusable ones. And I complain to those around me every time I see someone or a family who throws away leftovers. I know a family who never eats leftovers when they cook at home. They tend to have them. But never, ever eat leftovers. Sometimes, if they're attentive, they'll offer their leftovers to single family working neighbors if it's appropriate (enough for an actual meal, and they catch them in time)... but most of it gets thrown away. I also see a lot of people who don't take leftovers home from when they go out. -- All of this upsets me.
And they're not bad people.
And it's not like they can ship the food to a poor country. The food would be rotten by then. I think it's a matter of learning how to measure the appropriate amount prior to cooking. But this can be a task because you never know how much someone is going to eat unless you restrict their diet. I don't think they should be punished for it if they don't intend to do it. So I don't really think they're going to be poor next life because of this. If they even agree to have another life.
Here in London I have seen Marks & Spencer store reduce food when it is nearly expiring date but if it does not sell then they throw away large quantities every day...I have challenged them on this issue of wasting food but their management rules says otherwise.., what a waste.
Some stores give food to the homeless and needy but they are a few minority.
A lot of food throughout the World is being wasted.
The solution is FOOD BANKS IN EVERY TOWN AND VILLAGE SO THE NEEDY CAN GET THEIR FOOD THERE.
The Food Bank Teams can also organise it to be sent to areas via FOOD BAN VANS.
Very rarely have I thrown away food.
You get Karma plus points for wasting food.
Yep, they do that in my area too.
YAY USA!
And it's not unheard of to approach a place of business and ask them to do such things. I know that's how a lot of rescue missions and homeless shelters get their food.
But I can't account for what it's like in Pope Francis's part of the world. I know places of high tourism have a lot of waste.
