The language feeling response problem

Here is something that keeps on bothering me. Being raised in a family where my parents were from 2 diff countrys.(dad French, mother from Belgium) i seem to have behavioral problems when i switch languages. They seem to be related to bad experiences in childhood especially in Belgium. So when i need to speek Dutch for long periods of time i get in a kind of negative mood even if the situacion i am in now is far from bad. I noticed this because when i speak Spanish(6 years Puerto Rico) or Swedish (6 years Stockholm) i do not have this problem because i did not have negative experiences in those countrys or in life in general. It also bothers me because it does raise the question about multiple personality syndrome.Even if i do stay the same person and i do not change personalities i do have mood swings that i do not control. I do realize that these swings are mere outside reactions and that inside i am serene, what bothers me the most is that my wife gets to endure me changing moods based on where we are and what language i speak. Maybe someone here could shed some light on the matter and give me some tips on how to deal with it in a better way than moving al the time from country just so i can speak positive languages, and avoid mood swings.

  • I also have issues with multiple personalities. Nothing ever takes me over, but I do get into certain mindsets in different situations, usually as a type of "survival mechanism." I would say that noticing it is the first step. Good job. Congratulations to both of us. As for the second step, I'll let you know when I'm done figuring that out.
    • I have thought about it and i will stick to spanish, i relate and speak this one the best. Also on emotional level it is the one that feels the most conected. The languages i speak do have a diff meaning as how i feel when using them. Dutch is a language i tend to use in defense and agresivity, french has a slight smoother feeling and i use it also in a more flirting way and it does not have the weight Dutch has, English seems to be a neutral one i do not feel at al in this language and use it more in a informative way, swedish is a language i asociate with a more natural way of thinking of the univers and nature, as for Spanish it moves heaven and earth in al it's forms and it is the language i use the most and the only one i really can connect with in love and understanding. I do also understand that all these languages are a reflection of my journey, i did learn them all in their original countrys and have gone trough a lot of diff experiences in al these countrys, either on a personal level or a universal one.
  • Hypnotherapy, or self-hypnosis, to release the negative associations you have at a subconscious level : )
