Without exaggeration, the number of people falling in the land of forgetting seems increasing. And everybody who has ever made experiences with such humans will think differently about life than before.
We must face the fact that many of us inherit the aptitude diving in the land of forgetting. Let us ponder a bit on forgetting.
Generally being human is different from appearing human this and that way. Being human comes from coming into this world, regardless of how humans are and act.
Humans can more or less think, this is an attribute of acting and working, not necessarily an attribute of being human. Some humans can`t think nevertheless being human. Dignity is related to being human. That`s why even a human who can`t think is a being of dignity. This is by the way an important haeritage of christian anthropology...
He who can think will also forget. Forgetting is related to thinking. While thinking and perceiving, the mind is in the process of knowing. In forgetting the mind loses knowing. This does not necessarily mean the mind loses generally the process of knowing, which is often still intact. The mind can lose knowing or all including the act of knowing.
Thus forgetting is also manyfold.
# there is schort term or/and long term forgetting
# there is patial forgetting
# there is temporal forgetting
# there is total forgetting
# and there is remembering of forgetting.
Remembering of forgetting happens if someone has forgotten something but can remember he/she knew before forgetting. In some cases it becomes very mysterious - then someone might say he/she is remembereing that he/she forgot that he/she was remembering what he/she forgot. Still on track?
Anyway, the case of forgetting with all loop structures and starngenesses is a fine example showing that even thinking/forgetting is not a canonical factor belonging to the divine or God. Even if you forget what you once knew, including your awareness and enlightment, even if you forgot the divine itself and all feedom issues - you still belong to it even without knowing.
At least you might know that you once knew what you have forgotten. Or that you know that you knew that you knew what you have forgotten...
There is a little comfort in all the case. Those who dive deep into the land of forgetting, suffer not that much as their friends and relatives. They have, as we all, come into this world and will leave her. The old christian anthropology came directly from Christ, who declared God`s childhood not a case of human acting attributes, but attributes of being human.
Being human is being part of God from the very beginning of all...
Btw, a couple weeks ago there was a child born without a brain and lived for I think two weeks. Would you not think it belonged to God?...
