Spiritual Numbness

Spiritual Numbness11-17-09I'm going to tell you something that runs counter to most ideas of what spiritual means. You've been given these images of “spiritual people” who meditate most of the day, and spend their time with eyes half-opened, completely sedated. They have renounced the world, and don't really participate in Life anymore. They speak softly and slowly, and don't really have much passion for anything. This image people are given is one of only numbness, not True Spirituality, which is Passion for Everything. What's the point of meditation? To calm oneself down enough for self-contemplation? It's useful to a point, but eventually a person is going to have to directly confront what's stressing them out in the first place. Meditation just numbs the mind to the point a little bit of intelligence sometimes pops out, yet it's mostly an avoidance mechanism. It's like what most channelers do, they set their ego aside for a moment, and then pick it up again when done. It's something to numb the pain of their ego/mind, without having to do any real work on themselves. You can't go through you emotional attachments without feeling the emotions. The sense of peace people get from meditation is often an illusion to mask the emotional turmoil beneath the surface.Same with mantras, rituals, chanting, ceremony, all of those things supposedly spiritual often actually hinder spiritual growth. A crutch is only useful if your legs are broken. When you don't need it anymore, it actually prevents healing. The only way to go beyond unconsciousness is to confront it directly, then it disappears. Many, if not most of these so-called spiritual practices actually feed into unconsciousness. One addiction is just traded for another. There's only one meditation and that's called being Present. Consciousness is raised through increased Awareness, while the meditation most practice actually lowers awareness. Why else would people have to close their eyes to meditate? Real Meditation is done in every Moment, it's not something you do once or twice a day. If you want to get over your stuff, you have to be there to get over it. Be very aware of what your doing in your spiritual practices, are you becoming more conscious, or are you just stuffing things back down? It's better to be stressed out and paying attention to that stress, than to pretend it doesn't exist. If you want a real sense of Peace, you're going to have to go through everything that makes you not feel peaceful.Love,Will & Desi, Mother & Father God, and the Family of LightMore messages from Will here:http://gflcentral.ning.com/forum/categories/daily-messages-from-will/listForCategoryIt's once again finding that child-like peacefulness in the joy of being Present.-Father God

How to Do Chest Hair Meditation

    Thursday, June 12, 2008
Related Tags: meditation | chest | hair | contours | comfortable

    Instructions
    Things You’ll Need:
    Quiet place
    Loose clothing
Comfortable seating, such as a floor pillow
    Soothing background music (optional)
    Incense or scented candles (optional)

    Doing Chest Hair Meditation

    Step 1:
Prepare the meditation area. This will include making sure the space is private, has a comfortable temperature, and has seating that is comfortable enough to allow the individual to center for the meditation without being distracted by bodily discomfort. For people who find that gentle music or scents help to allow the mind to move away from mental and emotional tension, a music player of some type along with incense or a scented candle can be added to the area.

    Step 2:
Select loose and comfortable clothing. A shirt is not necessary, unless the individual prefers the feel of material along the line of the shoulders and on the arms. As long as the garment can be easily opened to allow visual contact with the chest, that is fine.

    Step 3:
Sit in a comfortable position. This may include settling into a comfortable chair or sitting in a Lotus position on the floor. The type of seating is irrelevant as long as the position will remain comfortable and not distract the individual from the purpose of the meditation.

    Step 4:
Begin to center down. This may include closing the eyes to disconnect from visual distractions. Take slow and even breaths, allowing the tensions of the day to drain away. Continue the breathing for several minutes, or until you feel relaxed and ready to move on to the next phase of the meditation.

    Step 5:
Open your eyes and focus on the hairs of the chest. Observe the contours of the hair, as well as the texture, but be aware of images or shapes that may come to mind. This is not unlike the childhood pastime of observing images in passing clouds. Allow your observations of the shapes suggested by the contours of the chest hair to guide your thoughts into places that help to create serenity and other positive emotions.

    Step 6:
Continue even breathing while contemplating the chest hair contours and the images that come to mind during the process. Breathing is important to maintaining a balance during the meditative period.

    Step 7:
Return to a full state of awareness. When your mind begins to tell you it is time to end the session of meditation, take a moment to reflect on and cherish the images and thoughts that helped to bring some peace into the meditation. Close your eyes for a moment or two and continue the steady breathing. Open your eyes and prepare to reconnect with the world at large.

    Tips & Warnings
Meditation is often helpful in managing stress and anxiety, as well as affording some quiet moments to allow the subconscious to bring forth important thoughts to the attention of the conscious mind. When practiced regularly, meditation can provide many physical as well as emotional benefits, including lowering blood pressure.
Chest hair meditation can be conducted with a trusted friend. Take positions where it is possible to observe the contours of chest hair of each participant. However, it is usually more beneficial to not speak aloud during the meditation.
Do not expect instant results. Meditation, like any discipline, can take time to yield benefits. If you have trouble settling down or “centering” at first, be patient with yourself, as the action will become easier with time.

    • Three yogis are doing meditation in a remote cave. One day a sound is heard from outside the cave.
After about six months, one of the yogis says, "Did you hear that goat?"
      Once again, there was silence.
About a year later, one of the other yogis says, "That wasn't a goat; it was a mule."
      Again, there was silence.
About two years later the third yogi says, "If you two don't stop arguing, I'm leaving."

"And how's your son? Is he still unemployed?"
"Yes, he is. But he is meditating now."
          "Meditating? What's that?"
"I don't know. But it's better than sitting around and doing nothing!"
