I used to live in NJ but I never had a "Bruce Sighting". These were usually in South Jersey where Springsteen would be spotted with his kids in an ice cream shop or something.
I did have 4 sightings of silent craft floating in the sky above me.
1st-at 15 -I was at a 'party' one evening on a fairway of a private golf club (where we shouldn't have been)with some new friends from HS and several skinny, pretty girls.
One of the guys wanted to meet some football pals in a neighborhood at the other end of the golf course. He egged me on so I went with him.
It was early summer and twilight was just setting in. We walked down the middle of a steep fairway
that had a gorgeous view of the valley.
We brazenly walked out of the golf club entrance and hurried to the twins' home. They weren't there so
the guy, I cannot remember his name, wanted to walk over to the strip mall.
As we walked to the end of the neighbor hood (now it had gotten dark) we both saw a slow moving rectangular object floating slowly above a corn field (there were still a few small farms in the valley)
It actually looked like an old propeller plane that advertisers used with lights going around the wings with a sign lit up underneath blazing 'Camel Smokes" or something. There was no noise. We jumped the fence and ran through the corn stalks trying to catch up. The other guy was yelling at the top of his lungs, I'll never forget it, 'Take me with you!"
Upon reaching the valley road we split up. He ran across the road to chase it. I watched as it slowly disappeared behind the hills.
I hitchhiked home, you still could in the mid seventies, and told my mom I was late because we were chasing a flying saucer. My older brothers had great fun with that 'excuse'.
