WASHINGTON—President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama paid $112,214 in federal income taxes in 2012 on adjusted gross income of $608,611, an effective rate of 18.4%, the White House said Friday.

You don't keep up with things do you, for 4 years now, Obama and the Democrats have tried to raise the income taxes, and get rid of deductions and loopholes, for high income earners like him, as well as increase the estate tax, and other taxes that effect only rich people. In the latest budget proposal, he proposed just that, the only problem is, the GOP Republicans steadfastly refuse to allow even one cent of increases, for any taxes that effect the top 1% of earners...who they say are the "job creators." Despite the fact that the majority of employers are small businesses, and 97% percent of small businesses make less than $250,000 a year and wouldn't qualify for a tax increase, under the Obama budget.
But the GOP won't hear it, they'll go so far as to hold back the pay roll tax cut, and other tax cuts for the Middle Class, proposed in the same plan, unless they change the plan to get rid of the increases on the highest income earners. Sadly, as the deadline came around, Obama and Dems caved...they let the Bush tax cuts extend, they got rid of certain increases they vehemently said they wouldn't get rid of....and as a consequence, had to raise taxes on Middle Class folks to make up for the loss in revenue.
Now everyone's all angry about it, saying how Obama lied to them, he said he wouldn't raise taxes on regular people, but he did, what a liar, I can't believe I voted for him. They don't understand though, that's not what he wanted, he fought to have that not happen, he fought for regular people.....but, there's certain people on the other side, who just plain and simply are too stubborn to give an inch, and they will go so far as to put America in crisis...and hold it hostage....so that the rich don't have to pay a little more. I wouldn't be surprised if they would've let the country fall off the "fiscal cliff" then blame Obama for it, saying how he wasn't working bipartisanly. These folks are a bane on regular people.

I told you more than once before that I don't care who is at the helm, they all are crooks, on both sides of a isle and should be fired and thrown to jail for theft, lies , war mongering and finally murder of innocents.
