Meditation

I assume that some people are more experienced with meditation than I am.  I am still learning so much.  Lately, later in the evening, I'll be thinking about something spiritual or deeper, and I just close my eyes, and I feel like I'm going into this deeper state of meditation.

I really do have a lot of distractions around me at all times, so it's somewhat difficult to totally submerge myself in this experience, but I feel like something is guiding me to.  

This last time when I came out of the state of meditation, I feel totally full of energy - almost like I just drank a cup of coffee - it's really strange.  Has anyone else experienced anything like that?  Like you're connecting with a deeper electrical - yet - trance like cosmic energy.

I think it must be a part of the transformational "process" ~

Just want to get other's feelings on this...

    I think the important thing is finding the space you need to feel happy, whatever that is, cooking is another art form and can definitely put you in a good frame of mind.  The act of creating something wonderful and tastes amazing is very relaxing and fulfilling :)

  • Well Anthony, I doubt that will be a problem, I can barely find time to meditate on a deeper level as it is :)

    But I definitely see your point though, it's also "action" that counts, meditate to find the healing or healthy energy you need for your own personal time.  I feel we move in and out of "meditative like states" as it is through out the day anyway, this is just taking it to the next level to to speak.

    I think there is a healthy balance to everything.

    some call it 'a great void' or to me was diving at night as an active state of 'meditation' due to water buffers all the noises and ... even your own;) and overpower one's mind ... (lack of oxygen) ...;)

  • Hey, yes the electrical current I feel just as I'm stilling to the point needed for total surrender to the meditation and then I'm under. It's very peaceful and if I'm startled out of the meditation it's a little uncomfortable until I get myself together. I always need to eat to ground when I come back and the energy it can give is amazing often far better than a night's sleep. It's an amazing feeling I love it :)

    • Yah, Louise, there is definitely a feeling of surrendering to the moment, and I think that's what's so magical about these states of meditation.  Glad to hear you're experiencing similar energies, it's very cool to see the synchronicity happening ~ :-)

  • Hello there....thank you for the post!!

    since the beginning of november I have been switching things around in my life it feels like a huge push... from change in diet to setting up a meditation practice, where I chant first (cause I feel like it is a great way to clear the mind) and then I meditate for about 20minutes in the morning and then I do it again at (suppose to be at 5pm)but last night I did it later. What I am trying to do is the consistency. I was even wondering if starting at 20min am/pm might be to much, but I am going to stick with it. I notice when there is a lot going (to many people in the house) on or grumpy then I don't do it, but in doing it I feel much better.  I do notice that when I am doing it I am kinda looking though my third eye and seeing a 'show' so to speak.....I like that....also another thing that is a challenge for me are my thoughts and the thoughts lingering around of others.....and I do get points in meditation that I am not thinking at all and that is nice. I was thinking that it is best to drop expectations of what and where I should be and just return to the breath, and not getting 'down' on myself for not meditating 'right' but as long as I am consistent with the practice then I should be fine. I feel like meditation is exactly what I need to be doing in regards to my spiritual health and growth. It is helping me so much I cannot believe it.......

     

    I think I am going to keep it at 20minutes for maybe 6 months and then increase the time, maybe just in the morning to 25/30min. ;)

  • Wow Anthony thanks so much for laying this out the way you did, very much appreciate it.  I think many people including myself would benefit in growing through Meditation, and I really do feel this is the tip of the Iceberg in terms of where we will be going "within" in the future.

    Going to read more of what you said here, I am very thankful for you and John's feedback ~ hope it helps others as well, I'm sure it does!

  • Awesome Anthony, this has helped me soo much.  I hit all the stumbling blocks and almost gave up.  Now I see I can make progress.  Blessings to you for posting this post Delilah and thank you Anthony, you have given so much help to me in my struggles with meditation.
