Be careful what you wish for you just might get it.”
How many times have we heard that? And how many times have we been told, especially lately, that karma is happening pretty darn quick nowadays. Manifesting our reality seems to be almost instantaneous in many ways.
The be careful part comes in, for me anyway, just as quickly because a lot of what I wished for has indeed come true – just not always in the way I envisioned it.
Stuck in the old paradigm at the time, I wished for a beautiful partner. I have one but in a relationship that is emotionally and spiritually lean. Great eye candy, I have learned to my lament, does not make up for lack of intimacy.
For the longest time since then I bemoaned the side effect of two people living together completely separate from one another but then I found the obliviousness to be a blessing in disguise. I am able to pursue my spiritual journey and growth, ‘work’ on the blog and meditate to Gregorian chants almost unhampered. For that I am grateful.
I used to truly dislike having to work for a living; I felt it a huge waste of my time doing things I had to do instead of having the time to do things I wanted to do. So I have been retired and am now a homemaker but, without the second income, we don’t have the money to be doing all the things we want to do.
For some reason time, energy and money don’t all seem to be in adequate supply at the same time.
Motorcycles have been a passion of mine since I had my first Honda 50 minibike at the age of 12. I am thrilled with the wind and the sound and winding roads through the mountains. Luckily I get to spend a lot of my summers on a bike except, with karma’s sense of humour kicking in again, as a backseat tourist.
I had always thought that my retirement would be best spent in a little grass shack on a beach in the South seas somewhere – no phone, no internet, no people, eating what I catch or grow, etc. So along came my partner with much the same kind of idea except his dream took place on a sailboat. Close enough for me! I agreed wholeheartedly to partaking in making his/our dream come true.
I love being on the water, out in the sunshine just sailing along on the wind; and to be in the Caribbean doing just that seems to be a dream come true. In many ways, it is. Toodling around in Gaia’s bathtub is like heaven on Earth in many ways. It’s also where I cut my sailing teeth with a huge storm on my maiden voyage and a couple of rogue waves that almost sent us to the bottom.
Being aboard is also where I learned to surrender to forces greater than myself. With Archangel Michael’s vow of protection, Mother’s comforting arms and Gaia’s promise to keep us afloat, I was able to surrender, just let go of all fear and worry, and ride it out.
The rewards were enormous as I could now completely immerse myself in the joys of dolphins, sunsets and sunrises, full moons rising out of the sea, all the various shades of blue in the water, cloud people, the song of the wind in the canvas, the smell and taste of the ocean spray – oh, I could go on and on.
I am learning what it means to be exactly where I need to be, when I need to be there. Everything that I had wished for over the past few years has happened in one way or another and usually with an interesting twist.
Time, as we know it, now seems to be speeding up. I find that I am able to manifest within hours or days, depending on the situation and the free will of others involved. No, it’s not a million dollars or world peace (yet) but little things that can be huge in their effects.
A smile passed on or some change handed out to one in need may show up later as a parking spot right in front of the door. Lending an ear to a cashier telling her story to someone, anyone who would listen to her, may result in my partner listening to me without ridicule on a spiritual matter.
Not all that glitters is gold, especially in the greener pastures on the other side of the fence (to mix a couple cliches) but always, always, there is a nugget in every situation that makes me stop and say, “Hmmm, I wished for that.” Whether that is what I really wanted or not, I got it.
