Many people don’t know that there are thousands of agents of the Internal Revenue Service that are allowed to carry firearms anywhere they go. Apparently South Carolina Republican Jeff Duncan was one of them. As it happens, Duncan was surprised to find that on a visit to the IRS, he saw agents practicing with AR-15s (and perhaps as full auto machine guns, at that).

Not long after the visit, Duncan took to Twitter to report what he saw saying, “A few weeks ago when I toured a DHS facility I saw IRS agents training with AR-15′s.” 

He then noted, “I’m looking into the issue now.”

It isn’t surprising that a Congressman didn’t know about all those armed federal employees. But with anti-Constitutionalists like Joey “Gaffe-a-matic” Biden around telling Americans that the shouldn’t be allowed to have firearms–except maybe a shotgun–it is pretty nervy of the IRS to be walking around with machine guns, is it not?

And with the IRS at the center of an intimidation scandal, it does give you pause to know that many IRS agents are walking around with machine guns like some South American dictator’s Praetorian Guard, doesn’t it?

But the fact is there are several thousands IRS agents that are formed into paramilitary outfits and have SWAT training, they have armored cars, door smashing devices, automatic rifles, personal armor…. everything a good soldier should have.

But why? Oh, they will pretend that sometimes IRS agents are put in situations where such paraphernalia is needed. But the truth is they don’t need this stuff and they should never be put in such situations in the first place. It is just another excuse to militarize our government.

I’ll bet you’d be shocked at how many politicians and government workers have licenses to walk around fully armed at all times. This is just one more example.

Add this to the fact that the Department of Homeland Security has ordered thousands of guns, truck, armored vehicles, as well as a billion rounds of ammunition, and we see a wild growth in the police state.

So, it probably shouldn’t surprise anyone that the Department of Defense suddenly decided that it doesn’t need any permission from Congress or local governments to spring into military action against American civilians, either.
