Here are some practical suggestions regarding experiencing more love in your life.

Ask yourself how much you love yourself. If the answer is “less than completely” you’ve got some new thinking to develop. Without a humble handle on how miraculous you are in both present and potential your hearts light won’t burn so bright. Figuring out the dimensions of loving yourself well will teach you how to love others.

Slow down and relax. Many people run too hot and hard trying catch up to love. When you slow down you’ll see it’s always been there all around you. Love’s been trying to catch up all along! You don’t need to be different or to do any better than you are to experience love. In fact all that trying has held it away.

Be mindful to let love in.  “Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”(Rumi) The pain and confusion we hold in our minds and bodies would be extinguished by love and so the pain resists loves en-trance. Accepting loves sweet flow through you will transmute your distress into wisdom.

Love is omnipresent so it’s as simple or as complicated as you care to make it. Mostly we hold intellectual expectations about how it ought to be expressed, and with expectations narrowed focus we can miss many proofs of loves presence. Cast these expectations aside.

A good way to align your thinking with love is to give. Start with yourself and expand that circle of kindness to include all that you encounter. The light you cast forth will return, reflected back upon you tenfold.

There are a myriad of actions that coincide with loving but fundamentally it’s an intention. It exists within and also between everything. So still yourself in trust such that the endless cavalcade of loves delightful presence can caress you.
