Kilauea – translated from Hawaiian means “spewing”, is considered one of the most active of active volcanoes for more than 40 years. It is located on an island in the archipelago of Hawaii and the diameter of the crater is the largest in the world about 4.5 miles. In the phase of intense activity of the volcano has entered March 6, 2011.
Briton Miles Morgan specializes in photographing volcanoes. This is a desperate photographer who came as close as possible  to the crater, while not using any protective gear…Have a look..

1.  Photographer of volcanoes Miles Morgan came as close as possible to the crater  without any protective equipment. With the timer on the camera, he photographed himself on the edge of Kilauea volcano on the Big Island in the archipelago of Hawaii.

Of toxic gases, I gasped, my eyes were watering, and the heat melted soles. Very scary, but it makes you feel alive, not sure what was once before I had a similar feeling. ”

The surface on which you stand, it’s just a very unstable The cooled lava, which is eroded by sand beach. Most pieces of lava break off and fall into the ocean, and the sizes are measured in hundreds of meters. ” Familiar photographer Bruce Omori is surrounded by a rainbow over the volcano Kilauea.

  • Oh my friends, I hate to see this website promote this egomaniac photographer who makes his article on Kilauea more about him and his supposed "courage" than about the most awesome spectacle of nature on Earth. I live on the active lava field of this volcano, and I take people nearly every day to spots like the ones shown in these photographs, and even closer!! It is not dangerous, one never feels threatened or at risk, it is the friendliest, most hospitable volcanic force on Earth, and the Goddess WELCOMES us to come be in awe of her creation. Look at the videos on www.youtube.com/user/lavaloverbo sometime and see the proof of what I am saying here. Miles Morgan has disrespected the Divine kindness which fills this area and welcomes us all the time. It has been erupting for nearly 30 years continuously, and in all that time, only FOUR people have died out on the lava field. That makes it safer than Disney World! And even those four were doing foolish things I would never allow my lava hikers to do. No one like Miles Morgan has ever perished doing what he did. He should stop bragging about his courage, and express the gratitude we residents feel for the beauty, wonder, and kindness of this incredible wonder of the world.

    • thanks for clarifying things a bit... not for pointing out the obvious Ego-stroke of this photographer, but mostly for the rest info about lava, volcanic action and the rest...

  • Excellent! Thanks for sharing!

It's amazing that people are allowed to get in so close to these natural wonders.  Many other countries would have councils put up fences and all that.  Maybe Hawaii is a little more relaxed?
