Chaos Dance

There is a 'dance' that I use to watch on a computer while listening to music from the computer. When I watch it while or after meditation, it often drove me to ecstactic mood. The 'dance' is not a dance at all in the ordinary sense. It is automatically generated by the computer. The dances are not people nor animals. It is a coloured fluid that is moving around in a chaotic manner much like smock. It incesantly change colors and spontaneous forming and anihillating paterns.CHAOS DANCEThe ordinary dance is both harmonic and perioding. What I am calling 'chaos' dance is harmonic but not that periodic. I donnot mean a dance that does not follow rythm at all. In harmonic dance it means the jerky changes of the body positions happen at the rate equal to the rate at which the drum is beaten, or exactly twice the rate, trice etc. This is what it means to say that the dance is harmonic to the drum beat. To say that it is periodic, it means that you keep returning to the same body position at regular intervals.To get an idea of a 'chaotic dance', begine by considering a particle moving verticaly across the computer screen. So it is a particle that is going to dance for this purpose! Every time when the drum beats, let the particle suddenly change the direction of motion at sync with the beat but in a random directions. So our particle now looks slightly like a butterfly darting around on the screen. But then remember that the demand for the jerkings to be harmonic (rythymic) is not merely for the butterfly's jerkings to happen at the same rate as the drum beat. Rather, it is generaly to happen at a rate that is an interger multiple of the drum beat. So the butterfly can as well jerk at a rate twice the drum beat, trice, 4 times etc. For the butterfly dance to be truely 'chaotic', it needs keep changing the jerking rates randomly in time and also letting the periods of a certain jerking rate last for random durations. Having gotten the concept, now introduce two such butterflies on the screen and also add colors to the dynamic quantity. Colors keep changing randomly but at harmonic rates. Then add 3, 4,5, 6 etc such 'butterflies'. Then you get your 'chaotic dance'.:)

    I forgot to say that once I saw the 'chaos dance' in the comp, I could form it by closing eyes and watching colored lights formed. When music is played they dance chaoticall but to the rythm. It brings lots of ecstasy and/or euphoria.

    Acute, I wanted so much to find the name of the software but I could not find it. It is a while since I had one. I also could have posted the vid by I have no programm now. I took the pain to describe it but fortunately, I end up describing a pseudo code and yet am not a programmer!

    That is a wonderful 'pseudo-code' you just wrote, and for an experienced programmer, it might even be possible to recreate the exact screensaver/winamp-plugin it is you're describing here, but for us normal idiots who haven't read- nor practiced programming for over 20 years, it'd be much easier if you could just tell us the name of the program you're using, so that we too can download it and experience what you can experience. :)

    The discussion after that, ought to be rather interesting. :)

    Chaos and fractals are connected because chaos are measured by a formular like:

    a=Re^(bx)

    It is called Lyapunove exponent.

    The equation of Golden Spiral reads:

    r=ce^(dy)

    Golden spiral equation has exactly the same mathematical structure as the equation that measures chaos. From then you can relate Golden spiral to fractals.
