OK, found some good information on my question about how to prepare and survive an earthquake. It might be a good idea to read this link.....Maybe there are others here who are not so sure about earthquake safety.

That is good info Marique.
The thing that I have missed the most is water. Store as much as you can. We had 10 days without it when the first quake struck and because the roads were so munted it was difficult to get around to get it. When we lost it the next time for 7 days we hardly missed it because we had about 200 litres stored. My friends all thought that I was mad, but now they are all doing too.
