  Pet Rock....haha...!! According to Gerry Anderson, they had a moon base back in 1970...(just joking...but it is a fun intro...)😄 Very groovy 70s chic...

  Weird; The Moon rotates now-not in my earlier reality stream-lol
  When I look at the moon through my telescpe I see the shaded/darker areas reversed and there are hundreds! of lights-I know, probably reflection-but some areas are cluster lights like a city on Earth at night from space-saw a ship cruise across at a good clip. It must have been huge. Then when I take my camera and focus in for a recording-the shaded/dark areas visibly flip and there are no lights at all!
  Moon Base Alpha exists!!! Check pics on a search and look fo images that have many light reflections and you'll see what I mean

  Thousands of years before human could go to moon, the principle at work in such a journey was already known. It begun by observing that when things explode say in fire, they jump up. Then pple begun to shoot things upwards over just one meter or so. So pple did not CONCEIVEa journey to moon etc just the other day. It has been known for millennia that such a journey is possible and the technological idea was known. Pple had done models that only required scaling them up.
  
  In a similar way, we must be able to conceive the science at work in interstellar travel even if the actual technology will come thousands of years in future. Anyone saying that we cannot do that because the technology is too advanced is mistaken! We must crudely show that one can move 'surreptitiously' over one meter and then show that if we scale things up, we can, this way, move all the way to stars!

  They already have travelled, with "only rockets," beyond Earth orbit...Apollo 8 achieved a "figure of eight" around the moon...Apollo 11 landed on the moon...However, it is true that this technology is primitive compared to Federation technology and that a quarantine was placed on manned space flight, beyond Earth orbit, in 1973, by the GFL...However, that has been lifted now...Colonization of Mars is now acceptable to the GFL..We want humans on Venus also....But need to terraform it first...as too hot. Humans will settle inner Venus, initially. Firmament layers will be established (vast planet-hugging sheets of ice.) Placed gravitically at 15,000 feet and 35,000 feet, offering more clement conditions for humans on the surface...Radiation will have a changed frequency, as it passes through the firmament layers. But that is a future plan, for now...

  You have said it very well. The tail of a rocket is just similar to that of an arrow or a dart. It just ensures that the rocket, arrow or dart does not somersault. But it need a good atmosphere to do that. An arrow on moon will somersault, anyway!
  
  The other day we were talking about how and why a 'UFO' looks like a 'wavepacket', a 'Gaussian bell' or a soliton. I like this picture of UFO because it is at least not a concoction by someone who might have thought that wings are necessary even for interstellar travel!😆

  Roaring Lovely...Agreed...Some people may have observed the control fins on Starship, the Elon Musk project...Of course, these are used in the atmosphere only, in order to attain the horizontal position, prior to firing the raptor engines for vertical decent...
  Musk calls this project a "starship," albeit it is planned for inner solar system ferrying, only...A true starship travels between stars...and as you suggest, wings are not needed...lol
  Musk's rockets do need fins for landings, however...
