Tried To Remember

Once in the throes of sadnessI tried to rememberwhere this love came fromand where it should go:Very long ago,before there was earth,before there was lifeor loveor thought,there was only meand an infinite blackness.I was only consciousness,potential,only feelingwith no shape,direction,or flow.I wanted to learnbut I knew everything.I wanted a challengebut I was in full control.I wanted surprisebut even expectationis too weak a wordfor the feelingof all time at once.More than any thing,I wanted to sharethe potential I was,but there was nothing like meat allto share with.So I created myself into two,I forgot who I wasand became me and you.And the first thing I knewwas your face smiling on me,so like my own,such understanding.Then in an instantwe were torn apartby our passion,our love,our desire to see more.Now we're both lostin the sea of this blackness,the void of illusion,so full yet so empty.Now we're apartand it hurts like a death,I know that this loveis the only real truth.Now I feelas alone as the beginningbecause I knowexactly whoI am missing.
