Archangel Michael has asked all lightworkers to lead. He said in a reading on April 3, 2015, after an instance in which I felt the need to lead:

Archangel Michael: It is time for that assumption of leadership responsibility to be front and centre. …

Steve Beckow: You’re calling me forth, right? That’s what’s happening, is it not?

AAM: That is exactly what is happening. That is why this line in the sand is being created. (1)

In another reading, he said: “The time for light workers, love holders, for all of Gaia to step forth is now.” (2)

His call to leadership (whether to me personally or to the whole lightworker community) makes sense. Most lightworkers are incarnated angels. In our native state we have transcendental consciousness, not that this neoprene wet suit we carry around lets a lot of that light through however.

I’ve experienced life outside the physical body (3) so I do know how it blocks the finer vibrations and sentiments.

When we take up leadership, yet another learning process begins. If we watch ourselves, we see certain necessities and challenges arise and find ourselves obliged to meet them in some constructive or productive way.

Ram Dass once said that honesty used to be a luxury and now it was a necessity. I’m seeing how relevant that statement is to us lightworkers.

The more we succeed, the higher the price of error and failure becomes. It doesn’t take long to see how the impact of dropped balls, gaffes and bricks goes up the more conspicuous a leader becomes. Our behavior becomes more constrained the deeper we penetrate into leading.

Moreover, the scrutiny that comes with public life ensures that we won’t get away with much. In my case, your email provides a fairly good indicator of where I’ve failed and where I’ve succeeded. And I feel the weight of responsibility reading it.

There’s also a pendulum effect in behavior. The farther we swing out in one direction, the more we feel the need to swing out in the other if things go wrong. If we’re pretty excited that something will happen and it doesn’t, we seem to feel the need to be pretty disappointed as well. Very excited; very disappointed. Extremely excited; extremely disappointed.

In a reading on Nov. 8, 2013, the Arcturians warned me: “You will be called upon to master EVERY thought and feeling. … Our leaders [among the ground crew] are having to totally hone this mastery of energy NOW. ” (4)

To accomplish this is to remain in the center as much as possible. Remaining in the center, remaining balanced, can also be called peace, serenity, tranquillity or equanimity. The Buddha called it the Middle Way.

Not necessarily sexy. But one of the refuges and necessities of a lightworker leader.

If our leadership proves successful, the weight of responsibility increases. Not wanting to let others down begins to haunt us. After a while an irritable thought or a careless action are enough to throw us into minor turmoil.

People who are not lightworkers seek relief from this weightiness through various means. Extramarital affairs, wild parties, nervous breakdowns, and mysterious disappearances from public life are some escapes used.

But those aren’t available to lightworkers.
