Lesson #9   January 6,  2014

Mandela:  Greetings, I am Nelson Mandela.
Nazira:  Greetings, I am aware of your gentle presence.

Mandela:  Today we will tell our people about the talent of grace.  In some places people are described as being gracious, polite, or considerate.  How you describe this characteristic or trait in a human person?

Nazira: You walked with dignity and grace, and yet you were always humble. To be gracious, some might say, is to be self-confident, well trained in the art of politeness, and considerate of others.

Mandela:  Do you feel that this is important?

Nazira:  Little children whose parents are gracious, become gracious themselves.

Mandela:  Therefore is grace or graciousness a personality trait that can be taught?

Nazira:  Yes, I believe so.

Mandela:  Now let’s move to another personality trait.  Can you name a trait that usually accompanies graciousness?

Nazira:  I would say kindness.

Mandela:  What is the difference between graciousness and kindness?

Nazira:  Graciousness is something that is part of your personality.  Kindness is something that you do.  You ARE KIND TO someone.

Mandela:  The next question is not really a trick question.  Please answer it however you wish.

Which is more important –

to be gracious

or to be kind?

Nazira:  The two seem to go hand in hand.  If you are kind, you appear to have a certain grace, or graciousness. If you are gracious, you are usually also kind.

Mandela:  What do they both lead up to?

Nazira:  I would say they lead to LOVE. Someone who is gracious and kind, loves people.

Mandela:  One more question:  If you see a LOVING person, what characteristics do they display?

Nazira:  I know the answer.

Loving people are

gracious and kind.

"The audacity of Mamdani to demand ‘King Charles’ (as if he owns it) to give it to India is actually quite funny.
Why would anyone take Mamdani seriously?"
