Mabon Blessings everyone. 
Mabon for those of you who do not know, is the second of three Harvest festivals. It comes from the celtic religion which tells us that now is the time when the young god Mabon (Modrons son) is kidnapped and prisoned until he is saved by the famous King Arthur. The myths and legends of  the fall and it´s coming is many but the most important for me is the one which comes from The norse mythology.

It was an ordinary autumn day, and Odin, Loki and Thor and his human servant Tjalve and Röskva was out walking. They had gone a long time and had not eaten since breakfast. Suddenly, they saw a pair of fat cows. Tor was very hungry slaughtered one of them which they then fried, but the meat seemed to remain raw how long it than was in the fire. It was a giant named Tjatse who had transformed the flesh, for it was his cows and he was very stingy. Tjatse approached the gods in örnhamn and said that the cows were his and that he would not let the meat grilled before he received his share. The gods thought it seemed like a fair proposal, but Tjatse tore up the whole cow and ate it quickly in the air. Because the cow was my all flesh is also mine, said the giant.

Thor became angry, but most angry was Loki. He grabbed a tree branch and struck for eagle. Then the eagle grabbed hold of the stick and flew away with Loki high over the heads of the other gods. Loki was terribly scared and started praying and threatening by turns. He föklarade that he was the great Loki, but it did not Tjatse on. My grandfather played with Loki when he was little, replied Tjatse. It can not possibly be you. Loki spoke of him to all as over 25 years was one of Idun's golden apples, and then retained his youth. Tjatse that has long worried about how it would go with his gold treasure when he died, because he failed to marry their daughter Injury, listened with interest. Get me those golden apples, he told Loki. Loki refused, but then Tjatse promised that he would get the dowry which he previously had to marry off his daughter, he promised to try to retrieve the gold apples.

When Loki comes back to Asgard, he goes directly to the place in the woods where Bragi and Idun tend to stick to. He tells Brage that Odin sent word of a big party in Vallhall and enhärjarna where requested poet Brage song. Brage who will be flattered march away. And left alone is Idun. Loki tells Idun that he can not understand how Brage can leave her to sing for a bunch of drunkards and then they go together into the woods. Suddenly Tjatse jumps out from behind a tree and rips in Idun and her apple basket in a large sack. Loki reminds him of his gold, but Tjatse just laughs and flies away.

The Asgard is spreading now a big concern. Idun is gone, and not least, gold apples are gone. Gods aging rapidly wrinkles, poor hearing and visually impaired. In the end they all come together a large meeting. Does not anyone know anything? Then says Tjalve he saw Idun and Loki go out in the woods together. And he saw Loki coming back alone. All the gods turn against Loki. After trying to explain away their starting Loki give up, but then he gets a brainwave. He tries to blush and then he stammers unclear that he apologizes, but he has finally found the woman of his life, and her father did not agree with the marriage unless he picked Idun and golden apples. Who is this girl, wondering Aesir. Injury, giant Tjatses daughter, said Loke. Freya, the goddess of love she is, takes away his party. Then also agree Tor after a little persuasion from Siv.

It is determined that one must forgive Loki when he for the first time in love, but Idun and gold apples must be returned at any price. Thor and Loki are sent to Tjatse to retrieve Idun and preferably injury. When they arrive is the injury that opens the door and Loki asks to speak with Tjatse. When she went off to fetch his father asked Tor if it was her. Loki mumbled something inaudible and Tor looked puzzled. He received the gold and they would just go away when the injury came running. Thor had told her that Loki never been in love with someone like her and that she would go with them to Asgard. Loki turned pale, but he could not reveal itself.

They decided to travel back until the next day and the night crept Loki around Tjatses house to look for Idun. He thought he heard her voice and snuck into a room. When Idun saw him, she was angry that he cheated her and slapped him and shouted with all his might. Loki became worried that someone would hear them transformed her quickly to a nut and put it in his pocket. But it was too late, Injury banged furiously on the door outside and wondered if he could deceive her even before they married. Loki who told Thor to wait outside the Bucks jumped out the window and into his bird harbor. He ran quickly towards Asgard. Skades furious screams had Tjatse to wake up and understand what happened. He jumped in his örnhamn and flew after Loki. The injury was a skilled skier followed in brisk pace.

When Loki came flying over Asgard with the giant eagle after him, most of the gods in poor condition, that they were too old, to see, hear or understand what was happening. But human child Tjalve, who was still young, drew the attention of the whole. When Tjatse flew over a big pile of leaves he lit with Röskvas help quickly a match and threw on. Tjatses örnskrud flared and he thudded into the ground. Claims that are now caught up burst into heartbroken sobs. Loki took the nut out of his pocket and turned back Idun. She hit him until she found out what was the matter with the other gods, when she started handing out apples. One by one they became gods themselves again. It was decided that the injury would marry whoever she wanted in Asgard because they made her an orphan. She would have to choose, but only after the Gods legs. Loki who was worried about being elected rubbed his legs with tar. Injury selected the finest legs, they belonged to Njord and not Balder as she had thought. But their time together was very short, because the injury did not like the gods of Asgard, but moved back to the mountains. Loki's punishment this time ... he got a certain body part fixed bundles in a wire that went to the leaping goat.
