Yes Tom that is true. The dreamcatcher I made gave me nightmares, so a friend begged me for it and they have never has a bad dream since. Grrrr!
I made myself a tiger painting, to hang above my bed, think that will do much better as it has personal sigles on.
Today I added 13 new runes to my collection, and I need another diamond tip to finish.. fact is I can only do 7 rocks at a time. Then I have to replace the diamond tip. Sigh. At least the bones are easier to put the symbols on. I will add a picture of my collection next week. It is a mixture of shells, bone, knee knuckle of a sheep, ox tail and the knee bone of a horse, that was given to me when I was initiated as shaman. The nice bit is, it was given by Gaia, and I was lead to it. It was really powerful. And it was in a old druid temple near the ancient site of Adams calendar.
In this way every one of those stone was also special, as I picked them because they spoke to me. Yes rocks can speak. LOL. Its more a energy thing. Then I draw the rune on then that I feel. There is a mixture of, Dragon runes Norse runes the traditional ones mostly used, and a few not of this system. Each Item in that velvet bag represent something to me.
So If I cast the stones, it gives me a reading like a tarot, but only more personal. It shows me what I have to look out for and who I need to help more. It work with the Soul level, too.
It is freaky, and not easy to explain as it is about energy, and the way you read it help you determine what actions you need to take. It is not something that can be caught, it is a "knowing"

The reason I asked was I have huge tapestry that I've been hanging over my bed for just about 10 years now, but I always just liked the design. Only recently did I realize that I strongly resembled a dreamcatcher, and I was fascinated by the prospect of having purchased it upon orders from my higher self without realizing it.
Now that I've given it meaning, what changes can I expect? =)
