William wonders about something that usually bothers our minds; how can something seem to have had no beginning forever in the past? Now, I am not sure whether he was genuinely wondering about this question or he was merely trying to rationalise the existence of the christian God. If latter, there is something understandable about what he is saying. However, it seems that his desire to proof the existence of the christian God overpowers his desire to grasp the concept of eternity(especialy the past) very well and realise its amazing reality.There are certain pairs of words that are easy to confuse their concepts even by a full assed philosopher.1.)Counterintuitive, irrational and INCOMPREHENSIBLE.2.)Knowledge, concept and realityWhat William is seemingly guilty of, perharps intentionaly or unintentionaly is to confuse the INCOMPREHENSIBLE with the COUNTERINTUITIVE and the IRRATIONAL. Trying to comprehend the eternal past in vain, instead of trying to INTUITE it he say lo! It is counterintuitive, irrational, hence imposible. However, it is intuitive yet INCOMPREHENSIBLE. One the other hand, we cannot form the concept of the EARLIEST MOMENT as such the idea is both counterintuitive and irrational. Leibnize warned concerning this vain attempt of forming concepts of bounderies with a good reasoning but the contemporary objections is infact that of confusing KNOWLEDGE with concepts. Yes, there are some things we can form the knowledge of without the concepts of them. We can amuse ourselves with the KNOWLEDGE of the fastests speed such as the speed of light but not the concept of the fastest speed itself. That would mean that a faster than light speed is inconceivable when infact, it is merely UNKNOWN of.
