Why do we celebrate Christmas?

Exactly that.  Why?
Julie Springs:  It's the spirit, ya?  Don't you know, it's that time a year, ya just gotta love people, and it's a time a givin and sharin and lovin.  The spirit a Christmas is a time of celebration, ya?
Anaswrizmi Khutifan:  What... is Chrismas?
Robert Monthwood:  Originally, Christ did not have a birthday.  However, as Christianity expanded, it conglomerated and incorporated the various local traditions, which, depending on luck and convenience, spread throughout the religion.  This includes patron saints, values, and the occasional festival.  Now, Christmas was originally a pagan festival, but it was incorporated into the religion as the natives were converted.  Apparently, it was successful and spread throughout the religion and became the "Christ mass", or "Christmas" for short.
Dillinger S. Mann:  Actually, Christmas is another way to propel and stand up the fake economy the world is in.  Did you know, most retail businesses in America are "in the red," or losing money, until Christmas?  Then, in the "Christmas Spirit" people go and buy stuff and help reinflate the economy.  Otherwise, a lot of businesses would fail, and the false system we are under would start to really collapse.  It only goes to show how corporatism has twisted the good things of this world and ingrained in people a sense of obedience and conformity.  Happy 1984, anyone?
Owen Cycleburg:  I would say that it is a psychological stabilizer, Mr. Mann, than a conspiratorial way to propel a people into subjugation.  People in today's world need something to agree on, and Christmas can help to bring families together, even if it is under more serious reasons.  That is why I think people celebrate Christmas.
David Michaels:  I don't know, man, but I'll just celebrate it, you know?  Free gifts and stuff. Yeah.
Gober Brown:  Listen here, now.  I'ze tell you somethin:  Christmas is good.  No questions ased.  Ya hear me?  It just is alright.  Do not question the word of God, boy.

......Hmm.  Interesting.
What do you think?
