(NaturalNews) While Big Pharma tries to instill the promise that they have patients' best interests at heart, most people beg to differ. Missing data (remember Merck's Gardasil, an HPV drug tested and approved for both men and women, when in actuality, there was information pertaining only to its impact on male subjects?), greed, a hodgepodge of toxic chemicals and suppression of symptoms rather than truly addressing (and ideally, ridding) them are often all part of the dance.(1)It's not any surprise, then, that researchers have discovered that a popular class of psychiatric drugs designed to treat depression can alter the brain's architecture in just a few short hours. Such alteration isn't to the person's advantage either; in addition to changes in the brain, experts found that most patients experience improvements in mood not in hours or days thereafter, but weeks.(2)Findings show how brain connectivity is altered when exposed to antidepressantsResearchers from the Max Planck Institute in Leipzig, Germany, used a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine to compare the brain connectivity in people who take such drugs and those who don't. To most accurately assess their observations, they specifically focused on changes in the brain when participants daydreamed, as experts have found that such a way of thinking is a strong indication of properly functioning brain connectivity. The findings, published in the journal Current Biology, showed that serotonin decreased functional connectivity. Drugs referred to as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are used to help treat depression and are most commonly known by names such as Prozac, Zoloft, Lexapro, Paxil and Celexa.(2)The study, titled "Serotonergic Modulation of Intrinsic Functional Connectivity," notes the following:Here, we show evidence that a single dose of a serotonin reuptake inhibitor dramatically alters functional connectivity throughout the whole brain in healthy subjects (n = 22). Our network-centrality analysis reveals a widespread decrease in connectivity in most cortical and subcortical areas.(3)Interestingly, there was also the finding that some areas of the brain appeared to behave to the contrary, as was the case of the cerebellum and thalamus, which play a role in motor function and even performing higher-level cognitive tasks."It was interesting to see two patterns that seemed to go in the opposite direction," said neuroscientist Dr. Julia Sacher, who also co-authored the study. "What was really surprising was that the entire brain would light up after only three hours. We didn't expect that."(2)The overall disruptions in the brain are concerning, especially considering that people don't typically feel improvements in mood for up to two weeks after taking depression drugs. This fluctuation in brain architecture that involves an ebb and flow of connectivity and alterations in synapses don't necessarily translate to SSRI success -- as much more needs to be studied in this area -- and for many, may raise questions about the fact that it could be doing more harm than good.Expert says that "in a perfect world" non-pharmacological methods would receive more attentionLearn more: http://www.naturalnews.com/048139_mind_control_Big_Pharma_chemical_alterations.html#ixzz3NWYDu8QJ

  • In other words you are being doped up by the Pharma while they are busy counting the money.
Its time to say no to Parma and look for alternative natural cures
    • You spent less than 1 minute reading my reply, and this is the answer you produced? How cabal are you, a lottle or just a lot? ;)

Let me repeat the last phrase of my reply:

I am quite sure that most people would have preferred for me to be on meds instead of on a "murder-spree", but we all have our periods in life of questionable choices but where our total life turns out to be GOOD all-in-all afterall, and with the anti-medication policy You want to promote here Kalki, I am sure you'd understand the choices I made in my previous years, even if those choices would have created panic and despair within your very own family tree. Don't you agree? ;)

      • a.o

        happy new years, bud.

        • Alcohol does wondrous things with my self criticism and my self honesty. :)

I read your post where you stated you've been in the armed forces. I can relate to the things you have in your mind there.

I have not treated you with much respect in the year 2014. I am going to try to do better This year..

  • Well, if regular depression is the problem, Saint John's Wort is the answer.
Unfortunely it'll also kill your liver but, it's better than dying from suicide and the liver can be repaired again by using vitamin B in large ammounts over a couple of months (just don't do a drug-test during your Vitamin B-period since it'll show positive on Cannabis for some stupid reason I haven't yet identifyed).
If Saint John's Wort doesn't help, you can always try an apple per day.
There's actually some truth to the expression "An apple a day keeps the doctor away". Provided that you first eliminate all sucrose from your diet.

If that doesn't work either, you're screwed unless you go for the Big Pharma-option. ;)

There's actually something REAL that is called "clinical depression" and which can't be cured by natural remedies. In the past, Nature cured this by simply allowing the patient to kill himself, but nowadays and with our new and wicked notion that "everyone must survive", some hardcore meds are simply needed to realize that vision. Personally, I'm quite glad that there were lithium tablets available in the 90's since I'd otherwise have lost my father, which would have made me far more evil than I can bare myself to be nowadays. ;)

Personally, I cured my own depressions by blowing things up and becoming (by reputation) the most dangerous person in the city I was living (in bullied misery) in , but... I wouldn't recommend that method to anyone since it's utterly evil, highly illegal and should only be used in extreme cases of self defence against a world that won't understand even the simplest equations (bully me -> risk getting a new home 6 feet under). ;)

In short: Meds are f-cking nescessary for some, but not nescessary for all.

Don't you agree? ;)

    • St. John's Wort doesn't work for everyone, and there are cases where some people became violent while taking St. John's Wort.

    • I know about the bullying it sucks yes some do need intervention. After years of being bullied and then raped I didn't trust anyone the cops did nothing I was hating people and men I just wanted to kill them all but something kept forgiving them all I felt more sympathy toward them then I did myself. . I was in a store and I ran into the Guy who raped me at 14 I could feel the anger build I could hear my great gram Bailey who was fresh off the boat from Ireland when she was a teen say to me as she said so many times with her accent....
Now little girl my sweet little bell flower forgive so you can live forgive so you are at peace forgive because the good lord wont forget.
So I walked up to him said I forgive you and walked away and that moment I learned forgiving isn't for them its for us so we may go on living in peace.
      • I too forgave all my bullies, until I reached the age of 18 and the bullying escalated to unforgivable proportions. After my dad had gone to talk with the bully's father twice but still no change had occurred, I contacted a "mercenary" and had the bully anonymously "deleted". After that, I've had no more troubles with bullies. For some reason, it was no longer seen as prestigiously profitable to bully me ;)

  • People need to use their loaf ( brain ) and find alternative medicines that will give no side effects
